Eddie Posted May 21, 2016 Report Posted May 21, 2016 This is more of a feature request than a bug report per se, but seeing as this is common functionality in all other airliners and the real 737 to my knowledge, I'm putting it in as a bug report. In the current version (1.0.4), you cannot select an arrival without also selecting an arrival runway and approach. For countries without runway-specific arrivals (eg. the US), this is quite a pain to deal with. For instance on my current flight from GCN to PSP, PARKS2.PGS DCT EED.CLOWD1, I cannot select the CLOWD1 arrival (which should take me to TRM and then terminate) without also selecting an approach into Palm Springs, even though I may 1) continue on for a visual approach after TRM or 2) not receive approach instructions until I'm closer to the airport itself. 3 Quote
Litjan Posted May 22, 2016 Report Posted May 22, 2016 Hi Eddie, I am not sure that the real FMS version we simulate may allow that, as I have never flown it in the US (only here in Europe, where we have "normal" procedures ). I would suggest to just pick a likely runway and approach - you can still fly a visual approach to pretty much anywhere, even with some other approach entered, and you can still change the approach later on, when you are closer to the airport. Jojo38000 Posted May 22, 2016 Report Posted May 22, 2016 (edited) Hi, The problem is that you CAN select an arrival without an approach, and it will be added to the legs page correctly. The real inconsistency is that, unless you punch in an approach, the STAR transitions will simply be ignored. Here is a visual example, at KSFO, GOLDN6 arrival, with RBG transition. on the charts it looks like this : But if select the STAR and the transition without selecting the arrival, Then I should either get the full star + transition, or nothing at all, but not something in between, right ? As you can see, you only get the star, the transition is missing. It seems weird to me, as I said, you should either get the whole star + transition, or nothing at all. Litjan Posted May 22, 2016 Report Posted May 22, 2016 Hmm, I see what you are saying. I will add this to the list, but don´t expect a fix for this soon (low priority) - it is simply a user convenience and the workaround of selecting any approach to enable the transition is not beyond reason, I think. Jojo38000 Posted May 22, 2016 Report Posted May 22, 2016 I agree with you, selecting an approach and later changing it if necessary works nicely, I haven't encountered any bugs yet by doing so. And if I ever do, well, I know what to do. Quote
