  1. Thanks John Will give it a try.
  2. I have Skymaxx v3 which I ran with XP10. I have just purchased XP11 . Does v3 work with XP11? The discounts on V4 were only for short time and I would need to pay full amount now. V3 would do me for time being if it works. Can anyone advise please?
  3. Not quite "nuff said". Given the problems with this and the developer saying cant be done perhaps a bit more please? Martin
  4. Thanks for the service update guys, the changes are very welcome on what is an already outstanding aircraft. One prob. however (apart from the click spot on blind in overhead view already advised). When I load the aircraft I get a fault report message which I think is GIZMO related as it remains available at the top of the "menu" after being closed. No apparent affects on the subsequent flight but appears each time I load now. Not sure if I can copy the fault list but here is the log text and GIZMO text. Ant ideas please? Thanks Martin (Madair) GizmoLog.txt Log.txt
  5. Have only given short trial so far but looks very promising thanks. one small thing at the moment. There seems to be a problem when in overhead view where the clickspot for the blind is now reversed and is in conflict with the gizmo tool menu? Madair
  6. On reflection I think I tried to look at something which might have been blocked. No other probs so will ignore and move on. Martin
  7. Yeah I had one of those yesterday. Went to another page-no prob as I was logged in? Martin

    OOM-Not new?

No probs Ben. Sorry if I am thinking out loud and I repeat I am not knocking your product, just searching for comment and advice. Having decided to go for it with X plane I naturally resist throw away answers. I've seen a lot of your posts. I'm not one of the lazy ones who say what do I do next. Equally I don't get fobbed off easily but am happy with feed back so far which helps me move forward. At this point I would usually put an"x" but don't think it would be appreciated! lol M

The last log was post "crash" or very nearly. The first one was not, which was my lack of knowledge about x plane. Martin

    OOM-Not new?

Thanks Ben I'm not knocking Gizmo but asking if there are historical problems which remain to be resolved. I saw reference to earlier problems but not that they had been resolved. I am pleased to hear it. It is a combination of inexperience with x plane and a steep learning curve which I am working on. I will go down the demo install route when I reach that point which I haven't yet. I note your remarks about the VRAM summary which is useful to know thanks. It may be widely known but as yet not by me-until now. At the moment the suggestion seems to be "it aint us". Ok I will persevere and see what I can come up with. I think it best to do so many things at once , otherwise the picture becomes clouded. I realise this is a good argument for demo install but I will see. Thanks again martin

    OOM-Not new?

I have reviewed stings once more plus have done a complete uninstall reinstall of the aircraft. We will see where that goes before I mess with scenery. What does puzzle me is whether and to what extent x plane ever dumps anything from memory. If it just build and builds then memory usage is bound to suffer. EGHI was only at the start of the flight so I would not have expected that to be retained but seemingly it does? Also when I look at graphics card usage in settings it suggests that I have used or predicts the need for 1.2 GB, well beneath capacity. Am I missing something here? Of course most problems occurred post Skymax pro and previous reinstall (which may not have been done properly but now has). I don't expect you to comment on Skymax except to the extent that you are aware of issues on Gizmo which is used as part of your product. Finally as the issues seem to crop up after about am hr. I will review auto virus updates and make sure they are not suddenly happening in the background. I am along term MSFS user but thought I would make serious inroads into using x plane particularly now more presentable aircraft and scenery are available. I have to say I am not particularly encouraged so far. Martin I

    OOM-Not new?

Jim I've recreated a similar flight between EGHI and EGBB as before and close to EGBB I started getting the memory warnings as before although it did not actually crash this time. Having said that I did notice that the scenery at EGBB was not displaying as it should. As an aside, but perhaps not for this topic, I have been having some difficulty starting the engines since a reinstall, having to reload the aircraft after which it worked normally.I mention this in case it is relevant. Here are the promised logs. Martin Log.txt GizmoLog.txt

    OOM-Not new?

I have updated the EGHI scenery which is quite new to version 1.2 an update which has just come out.

    OOM-Not new?

Thanks Jim I ran the same trip with another aircraft to see if the same thing happened which it didn't. I am not sufficiently experienced with x plane, being a long term MSFS user, so I hadn't appreciated that the Saab flight would not be there. I will do as you suggest and get back to you when I can. OOM-Not new?

I am getting oom experiences flying the Saab which of course includes Gizmo and I also use Skymax pro. The failure occurs after about an hrs flying when a warning is shown that memory is low and shortly afterwards it invites me to shut down Similar flights in a Caronado Stationair does not produce the same result. Settings are modest and achieve FPS 25/35 on the Saab and 40/50 plus on the Caronado. Either there is a cumulative build up in the memory without release of "used" or there would appear to be a leak. I have read the various stuff about these issues here but that seemed to have been dealt with. I'm not sure about that and whether the issues are being addressed in the beta Gizmo or the anticipated Saab update. It is a really nice aeroplane to fly. very smooth with no stutters or go slows. I have used sensible settings on Skymax Pro. I don't know what to do now given the predictability of the failures. My system is an I.5 4.2 , 8 gb of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 770 2GB graphics card. I know the RAM is a bit tight but assuming that a lot of memory is taken up in the Graphics card I really don't think that is such an issue. The reasonable FPS and perfect handling up to the failure point seem to me to point in other directions. I would like some advice please.
  18. I did raise this as a follow on to a previous point but it may have been overlooked. I had issues with the door on the 340 which I appear to have resolved by reinstall. It occurred to me however that the process I was using might have caused the corruption. Whenever I want to open the main door I believe this can only be achieved from inside the cabin. The get to where I need to be I go into checklist/internal walk round/smoke hoods which puts me opposite the door. I then swing round and do what I need to open the door. This method seems to work. Is there a more straight forward way of setting up a camera view inside the door so I can readily do the necessary each time? I am relatively new to x plane so I might be missing something obvious but research so far has not given me any answers. Martin

    Door opening

Thanks Goran I reinstalled and for the time being at least it is working again. It may be that my method of viewing the interior of the door may be causing a corruption. The only practical way I have found is to go to the checklist/Internal walkround/smoke hoods which puts me opposite the door.I can then swing the camera round. Is there a better way to use the camera please? Martin

    Zoom issue

    Your welcome madair

    Door opening

It works fine before engine start its after landing and shut down that doesn't work. Doubt that a screenshot or video would show anything. There is clearly a bug as its consistant.

    Door opening

There are really two sides to this. I open the door from the inside as that's the only way I can. I go into checklists and bring the view round to the door which I then can open doing the usual things. But- only before flight! Is there abetter way of visualising internally than my method? or even opening externally? Second is when I have landed the same method does not work, Lock releases and handle opens but door will not open. Tried making sure all safety stuff done but no difference. Any answers please? Martin

    Zoom issue

I think I have sorted this. Within the Saab functions is a variable viewing selector window ( not sure but may be part of GIZMO) and whilst I checked this and it made no difference I hadn't noticed that the slider function (zoom)at the top of the window was maxed out to the right. This affected all aircraft -not just the Saab. Anyway I returned to max left and all now appears to be ok.

    Zoom issue

Cant find any reference to this here. The problem is that on loading (several times) I seem to have a situation in any view that is zoomed out and for instance it appears from the cockpit that the panel is not included except if I zoom in I get a massive part of the panel and nothing else. I don't know if I have a fundamental corruption and need a reinstall or there is a button that I have unintentionally hit and changed how it functions. Help needed please? Tried going back to defaults but to no avail. Couple of logs attached Log.txt GizmoLog.txt
