Trans-Siberia Propilot Event (AN-148) Euroharmony VA are now running a new Propilot event (windows x-planers only I'm afraid - requires our flight logger and XPUIPC). http://www.fly-euroh...vents/details/2 There are no rank restrictions for flying in Propilot events so all member pilots can participate! Potential new members simply need to fly the initial training flight from Manchester Airport (EGCC) to Birmingham (EGBB) using either our B1900d, SU-80 or Twin Otter and are then eligible to sign up and participate in the event. Difficulty Easy/Medium - Aircraft is small, responsive and easy to fly both by hand and on autopilot, is fairly powerful and capable of landing at poorly equipped airports. The AN-148 is equipped with modern flight and navigation equipment, multifunctional displays and a fly-by-wire system. The weather will be challenging as the cold, dark winter descends on a snow swept Siberia. Description The Trans Siberian Railway is the longest railway in the world, connecting Moscow with the Russian Far East and the Sea of Japan. You will be flying a route that closely follows the railway as it weaves its way across Siberia in a modern Ukrainian aircraft the Antonov AN-148. Euroharmony has acquired a number of these aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator 9 and X as well as X-Plane 9 and 10, which are located at Stockholm airport, ready for the interesting journey ahead across snow swept Siberia during the cold winter months. The AN-148 is a high reliability aircraft with built in auto-diagnosis system and auxiliary power unit. Combined with the high wing configuration and entrance stairs that enable boarding and deboarding the plane without extra ground equipment, the AN-148 is capable of use at poorly equipped airfields. There are 12 legs to this event, each of which must be flown within a 3 week window. Leg start dates are offset by 1 week. Successful completion earns you the Event badge: Aircraft Links available: http://www.fly-euroh...1.msg51530.html
