Due to the PMDG 737NG boom on all FS forums I've been to, I figured "what the heck, I'll install it again". I haven't touched FSX since they released it.. was it fall 2006? Well.. I've been an X-Plane guy since 2008 or so. Can't say I miss MSFS at all. I must say - yes, the graphics do appeal to me. Even though they appear visually better or more detailed, I still think X-Plane looks more dynamic and "rounded" than FSX which looks kind of "square". I don't know how to give a better description. First thing that hit me - "OMFG there's this wannabe majestic music in the menu". The menu was in general slow and sluggish. And selecting planes didn't appeal to me at all. I'm too used to X-Plane. But I don't think that's a bad thing. In general, what hit me was that I wonder why so many use FSX. I didn't find it "real" or anything. It felt.. pre-calculated as if I was just sitting on a predefined path like a rollercoaster. I especially find it funny that a few cocky "I want it as real as possible" pilots swear to use MSFS only. They're like religious about it. And I'll leave them alone to worship the holy simulator. I'm far from being converted. The one thing that I really like is the general scenery. There's buildings all over. They might not be correct, but at least there's something. But that's it. Thank God I quit MSFS and went to the dark side (they were out of cookies though).
