1. Fokker F27: a closer look This new freeware file by “atgcab” (Alfredo Torrado) is, like the Antonov 148 so recently released at the ORG, a minor revelation. In it’s current state the file is a diamond in the rough, perhaps just waiting to be polished but even so quite nice and easily one of the better files available at the [...] http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/11/17/fokker-f27-a-closer-look/
2. Fokker F27: two new liveries Interest in this new freeware acf seems to be running high at the moment, and understandably so, I think. This file simply has too many interesting features to ignore, and the “fun-factor” is right up there with some of the better payware files. A decent, easy to use paint-kit is included in the release and [...] http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/11/20/fokker-f27-two-new-liveries/
3. Thanks Lis, I'll try covering the clip on trackir. I too reduce the movement sensitivity a fair bit. Can't beat it for situational awareness and scanning the skies
4. Good discussion chaps. Ha, Trackir makes things even worse, wobbly head view + fiddling mouse for that perfectly rendered and shaded OBS can be problematic! Have to admit my best instrument flying experiences have been in the x737.....or the Falco! Although the controls are in 3d, they are so clearly presented and the actuation points spot on. 3d is the future, but needs careful design, as yeah, controls should be quickly and accurately adjusted without swearing ("I want to change decimals!!!) That's why I'm personally disappointed in the EFIS app, it's missing a raft of controls, instead having a plethora of info displayed. If that can be corrected, then 3d pit control would be more standardized - for IPad owners at least.
5. I've recently discovered Lewis Black, he's very funny! And getting better as he gets older http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8VoIP9ZM8U
6. X-pilot fans, if u only look at one of our recent articles, this one's a must-read, Thankyou to Goran and Theo for your great replies and info. That CTOT sounds very in-depth, and those panels lookin great.
7. A 6-Pak from XPFR So, ya know, it’s been a while. Been a while since I saw my favorite Lady in Black. Well, guess what? She’s back, and looking better than ever! Anyway, our good friends in France have been buried in computer upgrades and, well, its been a while. Been a while since they produced a new scenery, [...] http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/11/11/a-6-pak-from-xpfr/
8. Strange goings-on at XPFR! Have you checked out the main page at XPFR lately? I mean, ya know, it’s like weird, man! Far out, kinda groovy if you know what I mean, but it’s like someone’s been puttin’ somethin’ in the water-cooler over there! Swaying palm trees! Silvery blue lagoons! And a BOAT! And not just any ole boat, [...] http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/11/11/strange-goings-on-at-xpfr/

10. News from around the ramps: 15 November 2010 As the countdown to XP10 continues to wind down to launch day, the pace of new product releases doesn’t appear to be slacking off one little bit. It’s just amazing, too. Here’s a roundup of some of the past weeks highlights and new releases. Saab 340: Leading Edge | X-Aviation A lot of news and [...] http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/11/15/news-from-around-the-ramps-15-november-2010/
11. Saab 340a 17 November 2010 |Â Saab 340a Pre-release Interview | Part I (note: we’ve used images in this interview from both an early version of the Saab and the latest pre-release version, currently slated for a mid-December launch. 13. good one! Great sound effects too :-) QANTAS pilots would enjoy that to help keep their passengers distracted "Our A380 has now entered DC-10 mode.."
14. Anybody able to compare it to the impressive AN-148 FREEWARE? I believe that too has accurate speeds and working landing gear, and a pretty good 3d pit ;D
15. Hey, be kind to the n00b, we don't want this place turning into the .org shout box! Anyway, it might be a riddle - Evan, will 030 do it, am I warm? (assuming no winds or torque steer) My guess Evan, is that you just need to get familiar with the Location menu up top, just click that and 'select global airport', then type in the name of the airport or ICAO, like KJFK. Then u don't need bearings! Or you can select a closer airport to practice, or even drag your little plane around in the map once you are airborne (watch out for birds, the amount of time I drag a plane to a better position and end up crashing due to dragging through a flock of Pelicans..)
16. Me too Dan, with smoke like this please http://www.flightsimulatornetwork.com/photo/wings-of-prey4/next?context=user
17. Garrett she's Edith Piaf, such a soulful voice on CD.
18. Crosswind landings 787, 380 and 320 Just had to share this, incredible films! http://m.wired.com/autopia/2010/09/video-boeing-787-crosswind-landing-testing-in-iceland/?mbid=wir_ob_ppc_rss_683 http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/11/08/crosswind-landings-787-380-and-320/
19. News and views from the ramps: 10 November 2010 I was thinking a few days ago, while going over Joyfulsongster’s amazing new KSLC scenery, that both the pace and quality of scenery releases seems to have picked up the last couple of months, and I’ve been more than a little perplexed by this. After all, XP10 is fast approaching general release, but that release [...] http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/11/09/news-and-views-from-the-ramps-10-november-2010/
20. An-148 revised yet again We found a new revision this afternoon for our favorite freeware file, Eugeney Romanov and Slava’s Antonov-148, and the revisions appear subtle, and mainly to panel lighting, but after only a cursory examination it’s hard to tell. Anyway, let’s take a quick look: The above is a large image file, so click to enlarge. I [...] http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/11/09/an-148-revised-yet-again/
21. New An-148 Liveries Perhaps, if like myself you haven’t been to the main An-148 page in a while, you might have missed a a bunch of new liveries recently issued for the file. If that’s the case, point your browser to: http://an148xp.ucoz.ru/index/liveries/0-8 and prepare to be amazed. While not (yet?) as broad in scope as the available liveries [...] http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/11/09/new-an-148-liveries/
22. LIRQ Updated…again! LIRQ – Firenze Peretola v2.b0… …has been updated… again…and for “minor errors”, so I thought it best to post this in case you miss it at the ORG. I took a few screenshots and it looks like some of the buildings have been updated, so you might want to take a closer look at this [...] http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/11/10/lirq-updated-again/
23. Beware the competitors + Ben’s Blog All our talk about Xplane 10 and computer upgrades got me to survey the current PC gaming landscape and update myself as to the latest simming tech, since the demise of Aces Studio (MSFS). Since I’ve ‘upgraded’ down to Windows 7 (har-dee-har Chip), I’ve seen a pleasant increase in the speed of software on the [...] http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/11/11/beware-the-competitors-bens-blog/
24. Glad to be of service Jack. Watch it though, I don't want u spending more that 30 mins a day on it, u are a developer, so hurry up with that q400! If I catch you flying it online as 'the Jackal', lll hunt u down quicker than u can say 'flaming death' :-)
25. cool Indi, glad to give u ideas. While the flight model is woolly, it's certainly ok, and offset by the graphics. Smart Russians ;D
