  1. Hello Xenonkatze, Hello Martin, thanks for your support, really appreciate that. Pictures of the actual HB-ISC would be great. I read, the airplane was brought to the USA to get a US-registration there, in order to avoid actual tightened EU-regulations that would make it uneconomical to operate the airplane here further more. So is it back in Switzerland now and still flying there? As pointed out above, the livery i'm planning to reproduce will be the HB-IRD, operaded by Swissair in the late 1940s. I think it fits the LES-model very well with it's oldstyle cockpit-configuration, such as the Sperry-autopilot. But maybe another livery of the actual airlplane will follwoe later on. Leen de Jager made a wonderful livery of the HB-IRD still in the Classic Air colours, with the blue Alrodo-paint all over the left side. Hope i can post some further pictures soon. Greetings Andreas
  2. Hello, thanks Xenonkatze that's great with the pictures i guess i'ts a airplane still flying, obviously operated by swissair as it's crowded with passengers on most of the seats. Did you fly with it? So i'm still workin' on it, and there's still a lot to be done. Guess I'll post some new pictures after the weekend. Greetings, Andreas
  3. What a great idea! you're always bringing something new and unespected with your liveries. Really looks great with all the fine detail and i'm very excited to see it on the plane in the sim when it's finished. Greetings, Andreas
  4. Hello Leen, It's really amazing what you achieve with your paints and normals. Looks great with all the details added on the outside and especially in the cockpit. Looking forward for further steps - and much more for the finished one. Greetings Andreas
  5. Hello, wanted to post some screenshots from the latest state of work - before i'm off for holiday a couple of days. Just trying out the normals to achieve a surface not too smooth and plane. Will keep it on with it when i'm back from holiday. Have a nice time and a happy new year Andreas
  6. Hello Leen, Thanks very much. Unfortunately i didn't find much time during the last weeks to get on with it. Due to your hint, i took a trip to the DC3 on exhibition at Munich Airport, which made me revise the pattern of rivets and platelines. So progress is mainly in the details at this time. Besides checking out a beta-programm for creating normals on the mac (reviewed in the forums) and looking what can be achieved with it. Looking forward to continue during the christmas-weeked, will keep you informed and post some further screenshots. Andreas
  7. Hallo, das wäre wirklich sehr interessant, Bilder aus der Luzerner Swissair-DC3 zu sehen. Grüße und vielen Dank für Deine Bemühungen - und viel Erfolg, Andreas hello, Would really be very interresting to see some pictures of the Lucerne Swissair-DC3. Cheers and thanks for your efforts- and best wishes for sucess! Andreas
Grüsse, Andreas In English: Thanks for the link, unfortunately i couldn't open the link as i have no flickr-account (and i don't want to sign in) Nevertheless i found a lot of DC3 pictures on the general flickr-site Pictures from the cabin and cockpit of the DC3 in Lucerne Verkehrshaus Would be great! But i'm not sure if there's access to the interior- pictures showing a acrylic glas pane in the cabin- door Cheers, Andreas
  9. Hello Goran, thanks a lot, will do so and keep you informed about the progress Andreas
  10. Hello Xenonkatze, Thanks for your reply, appreciate that. I looked for your MD 82 on the .org - looks nice - on Zurich Airport, i suppose. Exciting to hear, that your grandfather flew that aircraft, think i'll dedicate it to him, once work is finished. Maybe you could answer me a question, concerning the colours of the interior. There are a few good photos on the ETH-Bibliothek to be found of the HB-IRD of the cockpit and the cargo-cabin. But they are black+white, so one can only assume what colour the interior had. Think it could be grey, or as the airplane was bought from the USAF and used as a freighter, the original colour - probably military green- was left as it was. Would be nice if you could help or had any information about that. Grüsse aus München Andreas
  11. This is another livery-paint for the LES DC3 i'm working on. It is one of the early Swissair liveries, which are one of my really favorites with their overall bare metal skin, reduced lettering and the red/white swiss-cross on the fin. Although i'm aware that real reflections on a shiny bare metal skin can't be exactly reproduced, i'm trying to give it the appearance of that. I'm still checking out with some wrapped pictures of landscape, modified with distortion-filters, layers of lighter and darker metal sheets and some detailed painting by hand. That's one of the reasons i did the work with the detailed rivets and joints, as just for a bare metal skin these determine the appearance a lot i think – and i wanted to have it as realistic as i could get it. Will keep you informed about the progress of work. Andreas

  15. File Name: DC-3 Rosinenbomber File Submitter: Aegen File Submitted: 28 Oct 2012 File Category: Vintage X-Plane Version(s): X-Plane 9 & 10 Livery For: Click Here For Aircraft This a livery for the LES Douglas DC3. First of all i want to thank LES for their model, it's really one of my favorites. A very good model like this inspires me (like others before). My intention was to make it look a little more like the real thing by adding the lines of joints and rivets, more or less accurate, like original aircraft (yes, maybe that's typical german …). I also created normal-maps, made by using the try and error method and looking how it works. Just after work was done, i read here in the forums that there a plug-ins available to create them. But i think it works pretty well, so i'll leave them for now. For the first try i chose the Berlin "Rosinenbomber" (which is already included in the models liveries pack) as i found a lot of pictures available on the web. I tried to depict it most accurately to the original airplane (within the restrictions of the model and my skills) with it's dark silver paint covered all over, only the engine cowlings spared out in bare metal, it's black typeface and markings of emergency exits. With it's mostly plain livery it's just the joints and rivets (and the somewhat crumpled old surface) that characterize the appearance of the airplane much more than with a coloured one. Leen de Jager's impressing liveries with special cockpits included, made me add specific cockpit and cabin liveries too. The airplane was built in 1944 and served as an original "Rosinenbomber" in the Berlin Airlift, then flew under the registration G-AMPZ for various airlines in Britain, least Air Atlantique. From there it was transferred to Air Service Berlin where it was used for round trips. The military green cockpit of the former C47 was painted all over in black, cockpit walls without coverings, panel and all the rest looking somewhat stuck together- it appears a bit dark and disorderly, but that's what the original looks like, concerning to the pictures available. Unfortunately the plane had a crash landing in june 2011 after the crank shaft in the right engine broke shortly after take off. The crew succeeded in an emergency landing in a field nearby the new Berlin Schöneberg Airport construction site. Fortunately no one was seriously injured, but the plane was damaged and is being restored now. This takes more time and money as first estimated, but hopefully the airplane will fly for round trips over Berlin skies once again. How to install: Just unzip "D-CXXX Rosinenbomber" into a temp-folder an read the "_readme_first.pdf". Hope you enjoy it. Andreas Click here to download this file
