  2. Its here, arrived yesterday. Stripped down my old Dell XPS 700 removing the Hard Drives,BFG GTX280, and LG Blu-ray burner to install into the 730x. These cases are amazingly simple to change these items out. Did notice the new 730X case you will need a screwdriver to re move any of the PCI cards. No biggy. Took all of 5 minutes to remove and install. The hardest part so far, getting use to Vista Premium. After all those years of XP pro. Might just go out and upgrade to W7. 3. Cool, just received the FedEx tracking numbers and it will be here Friday. Going to need my cart to haul it up though. Box weight indicated by FedEx was 97lbs.
  4. I might be able retrieve the data on my new computer, the old XPS 700 mobo is history so there is no hope in getting any info from it with any other method. I have 4 internal HD`s in the old XPS and the one with WinXP pro was the one indicating problems to, but that could be caused by the mobo not reading it correctly. In the process of striping it down and preparing to part it out, even though its dead, its still worth a lot money. 750watt PSU is in great shape along with the drives that came with it. The case alone is worth big money, its huge and weighs in over 75lbs,heavy duty Aluminum. I plan on keeping it anyways in case I want to build another for my son in the future. Will be getting the new one next monday if the tracking info is correct.
  5. Have for the last 48 hrs trying to figure out what happened and after numerous diagnostics checks I find I have lost my main WinXP HD fried. Which in turn cascaded into my Motherboard, I tried to switch my newer newer HD into the place of the dead one to install a fresh copy of WinXP only to find that it won`t read the disk, it spins up and all but goes no further then that. Just hangs. :'( Have a lot money invested into the old XPS 700. Bought it from the Dell Outlet store back in Nov. 2006 Refurbished. So it had a guarantee like a new one. The old video Nvidia 7850 GX2 died a couple years ago so I bought a BFG GTX280. Then a couple extra 1tb Samsung HD`s and a LG Blu ray burner. Guess its time to look over the Outlet store again. Just bit the bullet and bought another XPS. 6. Tragic and getting more so by the day.
  7. Port au Price docks underwater with cranes sunk. Haitian White house collapse. Haitians camping in the parks with collapsed white house. Church collapse. Rubble filled streets. All of the images from updated Bing maps of Haiti earthquake
  8. Nope, do you have the latest Adobe Flash drivers updated ? might be the issue.
  9. I'm not so sure about that Jim. This situation is but a scratch on the surface of what's going on in the background. Nicolas owns the domain x-plane.org, but we own the community...and if the org is the xplane community, then we are it. If things continue the way they have been, there will be a major shakeup soon enough. In my opinion, org management needs to regroup and adopt a business strategy that works with the times. I hope so Tom, not good to try and divide the X-Plane community as we have seen multiple times over the years.
  10. Its only a matter of time before Nicholas discovers the post and deletes it. Plus ban the poster. > But it sure has gathered a lot of attention. ;D
  11. Now that is what I need to try, the Pilot view plugin. When I use my IR 5 it is kind of hard to get into the real pilot position. Guess I need to adjust the sensitivity if it more. When I move to much I find my head outside the cockpit looking back in. Looks cool but when trying to make a video it sure makes it tough.
  12. Awesome Javier, did you use a Track IR to get those internal views like you did ? Just bought a Track IR 5 and have found it an incredible way to explore the insides of these 3D planes.

Can`t wait to see the results.
  16. Thanks, its a long hard search to find textures that are higher res in mountain areas. It seems places like BC where they take aerial shots in higher res for logging and mining and in England. Right now I found that bing maps has super high res imagery for the Helsinki area I am downloading. Will see how it converts and looks in X-plane in few hours when its done.
  17. Another awesome park, spent the entire day downloading and getting it processed. Pilot Peak stands out so much marking the entrance to Yellowstone.
  18. Some more fun with G2XPL, was going to grab Edwards AFB and KMHV but there is always another day. Mountains are my passion.
  19. Incredible scenery created with G2XPL. Can never get tired of flying around this.
  20. Got to love G2XPL, have not used default terrain since getting to know it.
  21. Name the Plane ;D
  22. Finished the Fly-in video The Youtube embed function on this forum does not work. Get errors when submitting.
  23. No worries about pushing him, he is 13 and in 8th grade. Took my first flight at 8 years old. My son suffers from Asbergers which might also contribute to his fears of flying. But he loves to be around any type of aircraft.
  24. New Ulm Lions Club annual Fly-in Breakfast was offering Helicopter rides for $40. Tried to get my son to come along but he chickened out yet another try.Oh well I won`t push him. Had a perfect day for it and getting to see the fall colors beginning to start to change. Filmed with my new Sanyo Xacti FH1 1080P. Lots of bugs and waterspots on the windscreen.
