Yes... on the CRJ I don't have anything to do right now. I am waiting for the systems programming to be ended to continue with the documentation that already is 150 pages.... And the planes that I am making from Laminar are already done... or things that have to do have its hour set. Right now, what I am doing is makind the 1.1 version of the Mentor. After Christmass time I will start a new plane. That is why I asking your preferences. Thanks!
-
great! I am watching the post carefully. While I let time pass and it this time between projects, I am making the version 1.1 of the Mentor.

Thanks Cameron!

ok.. my mistake!! hahahhah.. this is a mixture of everything!! First lets define the type of plane, here: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=1494.0 The post is locked.... There you can speak, better.. but I will take a look on results.
-
First vote the type of airplane you would like to see.. Later we will define it!

Hello! Well these days have been totally disaster for me in concentration on my own planes but I am starting to have strong to start another project. While the CRJ is still on development.. I could start my 6th plane.... but don't know what I want to do. I was thinking on a fighter.. Mig29 maybe?... I wanted to make the F16 but already there are going to be 1 freeware and 2 payware of it.. so no. Also on a Sailor plane.... with little engine inside......... What would you like to see. Independently on flighter.. or whatever. I know this can be a mess post.... but maybe I can have a clue here to next step. Of course my limitations are always programming, and I cannot do by my own FMC stuff or other things like that. I am starting with Gizmo.. but trully I cannot garanty a good programming on any plane by myself. Now there is a strong competence around and it is not easy to just make a plane and don't sell too much of it. I have to be secured that plane will be loved (if done correctly of course) best, Javier

Hello, everyone, We find it important to provide you with updates to this project when we have something firm to say, and this is one of those times. We apologize if it may seem like there's not many updates here at times, but the reality of the matter is that there truly isn't much to say during various phases of the project. The CRJ project is still very much alive, albeit advancing at a slow pace, and because of this we now feel it important to explain a few things. The amount of free time some of us on this team for the CRJ have is very limited at the moment and has contributed to the delay in release. Some of it is related to working on getting X-Plane 10 out the door with Laminar work, some of it is related to dealing with private family and personal matters, and some of it is related to the pure complexity of the project. One of the goals for this project is to simulate the real world systems at a very intimate level, and this takes time. The original intent was to have this aircraft released long ago, however, we underestimated the time to get this product to a release stage we were comfortable with, and while we've made some amazing first-rate advancements, the aforementioned reasons in the previous paragraph remain factors for the release timeline of the CRJ-200. We have made an honest effort to get this project done by Christmas, but in the spirit of giving factual information, we realize within our team that such a timeline is an unreasonable expectation. As such, we felt it prudent to pass that bit of information on to those eagerly awaiting this release as well. Because of the circumstances of limited time, we cannot make any guarantees on a release time for now. We are close to completion in the grand scheme of things, but the final stretch seems to be the longest. All said, we realize this type of news is not what our fans want to hear, though things could be worse! We have made an honest effort within ourselves to see this project through, and we want everyone here to know that. The CRJ-200 is still alive, and while we (again) don't believe Christmas is a viable release time, we even then still don't know whether the CRJ will ultimately fall into a release timeframe of X-Plane 9, or X-Plane 10. Thanks to everyone for thier continued support and excitement toward this project. It is your support that gives us the motivational drive to want to see this through. Again, we apologize for the delay. Best Regards, Javier Rollon and Anton Volkov CRJ-200 Development Team

you are right! It was my fault on selection of dataref! I will change and as soon as I have the new version of the Mentor I will release it. The difference between the true and the magnetic one on the airfield I was testing the Mentor was almost nothing so I didn't see that mistake. Thanks Lis
-
Ok.. Goran says me that maybe the problem is found on the animation. I have to take a look. For now trust the NACWS number.
-
Mmmm.. Extrange... It should be the same reading because both are driven by same dataref.. but will take a look. Be careful to switch RMI on, on right panel. If not will always point to north. but I suppose you already did that. Will take a look.

well... I understand mathews really well. The desire to see something you would like to have.... you vision is what it make me make videogames, and later make these planes. What I try to make people understand is that I am not a robot. I don't make, and don't want to make, the perfect planes.. like they are on real world. I try to make them with the vision I have of them. Well.... don't misunderstand me... I don't make them cartoonist... and I love cartoon stuff.. but I put textures more saturated... I put more dirty... and I don't care too much on details but more on sensations that plane put me on. For that reason I make flex wings more flex that on real aircrafts... for that reason I "forget" those things Mathews or other people see... and don't like... because I don't try to make the perfect thing for everyone (that is imposible) I try to enjoy building those planes. And that is all! .... by the way... Yes.. I see that of Karma... but how does it work? I didn't know that was on there!! haha. Does people give you their votes or something?? haha....

Matthews.. I am sorry but my plans are not to correct that "bug". For me is not a bug. For me is the best default external model of a 747-400 you can find in any simulator. Included Microsoft flight simulator all versions. And the time it takes for me to correct it would be less time on other things that we consider much more important to do. For sure you will find the perfect 747-400 from commertial vendors, because we want vendors to make planes and addoms on x-plane. But for me is really the best default 747 already. When you build things.. or model things.. or you are in projects you must pay attention on details.. but if you put too much attention, you can make the project die. That is something I have learned and are still learning. But who think something is good enough? We could say that costumers are always right.. but because every person has his own opinions then the one that is right is the chief of the project, and I think he is very pleased with my work already. Anyway... for sure you will enjoy taking photos of it on next x-plane10. About my reputation as AAA developer. Sorry but I never thought about reputation and don't care too much about it. I try not to mantain a reputation. I try to enjoy working in what I love. But you know.. I can "love a girl".. and other could hate the same girl!! hehe best! Javier

Yes true! the Mentor has a Tacan indicator.. but.. I think x-plane has not simulation on tacan stations so I made the 2nd needle to point to ADF2. It was a decision I had to take, because there is no programming on the plane, so couldn't do like the real one. But you have all aids instruments to fly towards those radio aids without problem. If someday I find how to make Tacan radios, then I will make them for sure.

Mmm I could do something on the next patch when it is released.. but that would break some of the fun of the plane. Well I know that not all have pedals to make differential brakes. For now keymapping on keyboads make the work for sure. Try it. Later I will include an option to make it steer with pedals rudder movement... but as said. that will break something of fun of the plane.

OOOOOKKKKK!!!! NOOW I UNDERSTAND!!!! ok ok... well will that will happens always.. But normal!! because that is not the way a person should fly a plane. Well.. let me explain..... That is like build a entire city to live finally on the country on a house. I build a full 3D cockpit just to let people fly without it? Ok ok.. you want to fly without the cockpit view.. and want to find a way how... Easy. 1. Control+o to manage in 3D cockpit. 2. RePag until you move the camera in front of the engine That is... if you want to return to cockpit fast... press w Well I know is not a solution for what you want.. but still I ask why? you want to fly that way?.. Yes yes.. I know you have your motives and you are right to..... but...... ??? You know.. I am trying to give visually the most realistic plane... and flying that way is not supported from me.. because never was thinking of it. Another solution better is to define your view with pilotview.. and save it on a keymap.. so you can go easy there. But Y didn't find a solution to have the HUD (that remember this plane hasn't any) without seeing anything. I think I cannot make anything with that... Maybe someone would give a better solution.. but I think it would need programming.. because I cannot delete those squares. They are the panel.png stuff.

extrange.. maybe is one of those "reset xplane" or just your videocard.

Well the biggest part is doing Tom Kyler.. I am just helping him a little with subparts.. "fuel stations, trucks, depots.. etc... " that is for now.. the inmediate work.. Later we will see. Here on scenery is always a challenge because you have to do very small textures.. but have good pixel aspect. But yes.. I have modeled planes, buildings, humans, animals.. all! But I started as animator.. so I know animation of humans.. cartoons.. etc... You can see some videos of my career on youtube. And later was texture artist.. etc etc... hehe.. with 32 number.. I have a long history. I was on school always number 32 of children... 8 years.. and was put on alphabetic order.. people changed but always was the 32. Because of that I started to see 32 everywhere.. 32 in Magic johnson (NBA Players) 32 lots of time I saw time on watch.. 32 on some sportsuits... 32 on tshirts.. EVERYWHERE... So the year I started to learn Japanese.. someone called me "japo" that didn't like too much.... but discovered it was a nick very easy to remember.. so.. Japo32 for always.. hahahaha. So always I try to put a 32 on my creations! hehe.

I don't remember if fsx does or not.. but fsx or fs9 uses directx.. x-plane uses openGL.. maybe that has to do with it.. but the main thing is on x-plane.. if you want to have less flickering on distance you have to build your plane with all the objects and vertex join together.. BUT... still you can see it if there are parts inside the plane.. and the 747 has Slats segmets inside... the flaps.. the landing gears.. the internal box of the cockpit.. and a few more on engines.. About Engines blur.. yes... maybe I will rework on the fan moving a little. If we should have more fps we should see them blurry.. but we don't so we have to put another object with blur texture on it. But First I have to end with buildings.. We are the first that see the things to do better.. but you know, How many people has laminar working on x-plane? We can count with the fingers of 2 hands maybe.... and we have to make things fast to do more. This 747 toke less than a month to complete. Ok.. going now to buildings.... and stuff on airports.. that is really really really very important. best! Javier
-
Matthew... if I would concentrate on release the perfect 747 then I couldn't do the rest of things that also are important. For example I think most poeple would like to have buildings on default airports... that is what I will concentrate now. Of course when I have time.. then I can make it better but for sure I always know one thing.. "if you try to make happy to everyone you will be sad forever" It is imposible.. and more with the incredible eyes poeple have. But I do my best.. and try to have the best. Release 7 aircrafts.. in 4-5 months is a record.. Totally when I am also working on CRJ.. was working on Mentor.. and trying to have time with family!! hehe these are little step all comunity makes.. Xplane 10 will be better than 9.. and if everything is ok.. there will be an 11 version much better than 10... As I say.. Step by Step. Thanks for all your support! About the flickering in some parts.. When you record a video from a camera far away from the plane that happens. It is called Errors with Zbuffering.. and there is no game it fix it. Only maybe level of details.. but you will see with zoom the plane very awfull.
-
I have contacted with Cameron now.. It is a problem I cannot solve (with installer) but if you still have that problem.. I will send you the files to fly the Mentor. But first lets wait to Cameron and see what happens becuase maybe is a problem with more users (noone but you told us about this problem... ).. well we will see Thankyou for your patience!

Still is WIP because I need to implement them on x-plane 10 new light system.. and other issues I find. For now the 2d panels are like the same.. until I receive the order to change them. You know x-plane sub-version changes lots of things! Makes x-plane alive software!
-
Yes the 747 was. I can tell because of the Beacon light. NO NO NO.. I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR!! ALL OF THOSE SHOTS WHERE RENDERED ON X-PLANE9.... but I have techniques to make all appear a little better. The tools are there on x-plane9.
-
No.. for the 1.0 version won't have it (except the shuttle and x15).. BUT!!! when I build a plane I think on it totally shape.... so.. My intentions if Austin let me do it and don't have more important things to do, are to make them on future sub-versions of x-plane 10. Lets see what we see... For sure Xplane versions are never finished of new things to come (still x-plane 9 have new things to offer)
