Hello ! I'm wondering if you will include several versions, like this good looking one with older two bladed prop, variable pitch : http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3428/3374310283_349d7a0253.jpg

Just check this video, if you love those kind of heli, just listen the sound of the blade at the end, when the turbine shutdown ... Magnifiscient
-
Totally incredible work.. Really impressed ! The white lines on the edges of the prop blades are too thin, usually, they are same width as the grey part, but just to be a tweaker ! Looking forward to this one, as the DC-3, really good golden age planes come along this year !

Yes.. 7 people doesn't want this beauty ... could you justify you, just to know your point ?
-
It's being made ? I thought you speak of the DODOSIM Huey for FS ! Who do it ? Propsman ?
-
About 380 views and only 18 votes ? Men, please say yes if you want, or no ( an explanation of how you don't like this heli would be interesting ) Cheers, Valentin.

.. How could I retrieve X-Plane 9 pretty useful camera system ? I haven't Track IR, and in cockpit view , I always used hat switch to pan views, left right up down .. Impossible now, also, the zoom out to space function has been removed... WHY ? It was a very exclusive feature of X-Plane .. ;-(
-
Hey happybirthday !
-
Yes I know alot about DODO Huey .. but it seems they are working in real aviation simulator ( proffessional ). Anyway, from what i remember, dodosim was better than average FSX, but FAR beyond average X-Plane Heli, and light years under Dreamfoil's files..
-
Thanks ! Someone probably doesn't like Huey .. What do you mean with FSX ? they also require his skills ?
-
Congrats , you'are all the best in your own specialisation..
-
Wow ! Theo got only two years more than me and know doing all those texture stuff ! AMAZING

Yes, I even didn't answer there on the org, they are totally mad, there are no words to describe them, especially someone .. just madness. Every members didn't understand why he did that. Anyway, don"t want to waste this thread about the Huey , common people, keep voting ^^

Hello everyone, how are you ? I create this topic for a community request. I am a helicopter enthusiast, since the early beginning.. I never understood why in X-Plane, not any serious developer has ever thought of a great quality Huey. If just one helicopter should be choose among others, the Huey really should be that one .. It's simply the icon of helicopters. The Bell UH-1 Huey was intensively used in Vietnam War, creating the concept of using helis for troops transport and infantry support. Since, many versions were born, Bell 212, 412 UH-Y " Venom ".. but all that stuff is full of avionics, glass cockpit, autopilot etc .. The very first ones, the UH-1 B,C,D,H series, commonly called Iroquois,Slicks or even more internationally known as the Huey ( which came from it's original US Army name : HU-1A ), were very unique, every crew, pilots, engineer that had worked with " him " just loved him and never forget, always hold an important place in their hearts. That helicopter is first, deadly beautiful, American always got talent to make things that looks just sweet and naturally pretty, not like english stuff for example .. Every parts of it is pure mechanic, from main rotorhead to tail rotor, pure clever and reliable mechanic. And an other thing, maybe the most spectacular one.. it's SOUND ! Everyone one has obviously heard one, they are presents in EVERY US films. That sound was the " chance to get out of the green hell " for Vietnam vet's, and it still remains a certain charm nowadays, his big two bladed rotor made an exceptional sounds, it's like - for fixed wing enthusiasts - the sound of a big Pratt & Whitney radial engine, or F4U-1 legendary sound for example .. Very touching and affecting ... It's the first helicopter in X-Plane, that I see people request : - http://forums.x-pilo...e-payware-heli/ - http://forums.x-plan...showtopic=48423 Some were available for 7.XX X-Planer version.. very outdated now. Alfredo Fernandes and his own company " Dreamfoil's Creation " ( http://dreamfoil.xyz.ind.br/ ) was quite interested in doing one, but seeing how the X-Plane helicopter market goes, it could be risky. People are less interested helicopter because " It's too hard to fly " or " It's not as faster as a SR71 Blackbird .. " But I hope ( and believe ) that now, with X-Plane 10 incredible lands, city, neighborhood, backyards, supermarket etc... anyway, all the new X-Plane 10 ground live, people will want some birds to fly low, land anywhere, to explore that brand new world.. Helicopters are not hard once you got how it works, and when you got it, you feel a impressive pleasure of perfectly control a beast that anyone tell is hard to handle.. I would like to know with this topic, how many people are REALLY interested in the Huey, and who would be ready to pay for it. I really think Alfredo is THE guy for doing this, it's a perfectionist, he has already released two helicopters ( Bell 206 Jet Ranger III and Robinson R-22 Beta II ) outstanding ones, they were the first to benefits from a real 3D sound engine, with HQ sounds for every parts of the heli like blades slap, transmission, alternative wind, tail rotor, clutch .. all these sounds based on datarefs and how it react with what you are doing, how much blade pitch you input on, where and how much wind come to the rotor etc.. so not just good recorded sounds. And god know how the sounds are important in simulation, especially in helicopter. The very exceptional Huey sounds would benefits from that system ( Dreamengine exclusive plugin ). Then, the flight model was, on the R22 and Bell 206, pushed very far, tested with real aviation pilots, tweaked by Alfredo, re tested by pilots etc.. cheating with values, using plugins, constantly tweaking to get the most realistic experience as possible with what X-Plane 9.70 has to offer. The graphics were outstanding, some things like vibrations and shaking is a " must have " feature that every heli should have and so, HE IS the guy if you want an extra quality Helicopter. So, give your thoughts , if you are really interested in it, make this thread busy ! If Huey has the reputation it has in the real rotary world, it should have many people interested ! Best regards, Valentin

Well, I think this man resume all the problem : " I think you're right... Unlike my French above, which was full of errors, in language, context and simple typographical. Sorry! I won't try again right now and if I do in future, I'll refer a little more to the French-English dictionary that supports this little notebook that I type on. Anyway, there is a very defensive attitude from a lot of people within the X-Plane world, but some developers are now working for both sims and more will follow, depending on whether Flight is what some people think it will be, or what others think it will be. With developers like Carenado already developing for the sim, as I mentioned earlier, the VFR Photo Scenery for the UK is already available for X-Plane, Aerosoft have announced that they will be supporting it... The future is far from dim for X-Plane. However while the community remains so closed, with limited add-ons (both commercial and freeware) available from "major" download sites, then the XP community is still very closed and unlikely to draw more interest. Avsim, for example, will very happily post freeware files from X-Plane, the same as they do for FSX, FS9, TRI Fly!, Looking Glass Flight Unlimited... They don't care what sim it is for and if more XP add-ons became available there, or at flightsim.com, simviation, or via the online stores such as simMarket for the commercial add-ons, you'll get significantly more exposure. X-Plane does need more developers, yes, but the defensive, closed, "clique" environment isn't helping and nor is the abject ignorance of why people aren't already using X-Plane at the very top. There seems to be an attitude that people don't "understand" X-Plane or simply dismiss it out of hand. We don't. As Scott and others, including myself, have said earlier, we look at it and, right now, it simply doesn't meet the needs we have. There's always a "clique" element in any competing products - be it X-Plane v MSFS, Tranz v Rail Simulator v MS Train Simulator, rFactor v SimBin titles or almost any other example (don't mention football!) - that will always be there, but yes, the walls do need to come down. My problem is that any attempt to breach them from one side seems to constantly result in frantic rebuilding efforts from the other, so people give up and the walls stay intact. Rather than being jealous of what MSFS has, X-Plane needs to welcome people from the MSFS community in who want to work with X-Plane. It needs to talk to them, listen to their needs with being abusive and/or dismissive and work to help address those needs. I've just been informed that Fish and Chips have arrived, so I'm going to limp off downstairs and be sociable/eat food. " ...

The issue with FSX isn't that its too easy.. some planes are actually easy to flight ( I'm also a young pilot, 45 Hours in 152 ) but at least in X-Plane you have the feeling that your slightest action on any control have an importance.. trims etc.. a good feeling also with environnement, runway when land etc.. we feel there is a physic engine behind the scene

Lol guys, speak for you ! I'll be stucked to X-Plane 9 until my parents agreed to buy a new computer.. I run at 5 FPS on my laptop on low settings... THE GLOBAL CRISES IS ANYWHERE ..

Yes, I think you're true I will keep defend my lovely sim on the A2A forums since I got bored.. or they give up ;-)

http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=27294&p=208581#p208581 their last answer : " It's called time management. Developer need to spend a lot of time for transition from one platform to another. Depends on the available tools and documentations, this can take weeks (for example going from FS9 to FSX) or months (FS to X-Plane). Now, does the new platform actually give any advantages, are there any benefits of jumping ship ? In case of going from FSX to X-Plane, at this day, still there are none. The X-plane community is smaller, and all of the current customers will either be abandoned, forced to also switch to new platform, or will suffer consequences of parallel development for two platforms at once. X-Plane, as was stated before, doesn't support anything developer like A2A is doing - so it would be more work for them to incorporate Accu-Sim into new platform. You chose the wrong place to preach about the savior of all simmers " Why people are so strong minded about a thing, and never consider changing their thoughts ? If X-Plane is still small it's due to all those bad gossips..

Mm love the prop effect ! We even can see the blade angle on the top tight blade .. Great work !
-
yes.. but FS suffers a lot from pirating.. Pirated files for XP are really rare. For FS, it's very often.. Wait and see. I don't want everyone come to XP , just some very special mens like A2A, nice guys who loves aviation, not only Dollars.
-
LOL ! I totally agree ! I want people come into X-Plane world cause it's the only way for us to have more and more incredible stuff, a very high quality aicraft for each type ( FSX have so many adds on that they usually have several version of the same ACF, all graphically better than the other .. ) while us, we have only few high quality adds on we can count on hand's fingers..
-
No, we want to hear that wonders can born in X-Plane, the skills of the developper and the number is very important and hear that FSX user recognize XP can be as eye candy as their FSX fashion sim..
-
A FSX user posted on A2A forums : " I was looking at this one, which Hueyman posted, and it does look impressive: From what i can see here it looks every bit as good as the PMDG stuff. If this is possible then may be it means the developer behind X-Plane's Comet just is unable to program at a sufficiently high level. " This is what WE WANT to hear !! :-)
