  1. Some leftover video clips from a recent video project. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=<object width="480" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vqiqvdhJSg&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vqiqvdhJSg&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vqiqvdhJSg&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"></embed></object>
  2. I bet if I went through my collection of disks, I'd come across A-10 as well, hadn't thought of it till you mentioned it. But alas, you're right, wouldn't work on my MAC tower. BUT, all those old MACS in the garage!!! Right, like I have the time Extremely jealous about the storm! I grew up in the northeast and have lived in Southern California since '79. They say we have great weather here and I remind them we have great "climate" here but very little "weather!" Weather to me is the actual occurrence of things and frankly, very little happens around here in terms of weather. Not even clouds. BORING! Does make for great flying though. But I do miss the challenge. Bundle up, get the cocoa going, put another log on the fire, etc. I miss the weather so much that I have live cameras I visit on my iPhone in South and North Dakota and anywhere else a storm is moving into. Be well, Jim!
  3. Nice work, Jim. Years ago, there was a flying game (pretty good sim but not actually a sim) called A-10 Warthog. It had an amazing tunnel built into a mountain as well. In addition, at the middle of the tunnel was a turn off where one could make a right or a left. Well of course, the challenge became flying the Warthog into the tunnel and seeing how far one could go as it was actually wide enough to hold the plane. Have you by any chance taken a crack at flying into this tunnel? Let's see, which aircraft would fit...
  4. Thanks for the input, Jman. I'll give it a shot though I need the anti aliasing quality because I do utilize the video aspect of X-Plane to create videos for, well, X-Plane. You can check out some of my work on the video posts. As far as bug reports, I'm holding off as I was having other QT issues with some previous beta releases and XP swore it wasn't an issue at their end and then after the latest release, the previous QT issue went away and this new one has appeared. It's always something. Nonetheless, thanks for the input, I'll try your suggestions though just to see what happens and take it from there. Paul
  5. After I record a video in Quicktime from within X-Plane, I get a consistent frame skip throughout the video on replay. It's as though every second, the video jumps forward about 3 or 4 frames. I've tried deleting preferences for both XP and QT, I've tried various frame rates and sizes from within XP and still no luck. I have no issues QT with any other application so I'm assuming it can't be the video card. Any thoughts out there? Thanks in advance for any comments and/or suggestions.
  6. Hi guys: Forgive me as I'm trying to figure out how to reply on these posts. Cameron, I may have already sent you a message? In answer to your question: Yes! Among the many things I do, being a filmmaker, photographer and editor (and pilot) is what gives me a certain advantage in terms of having a unique perspective on camera placement, etc. I'm working with Austin in trying to develop some user friendlier tools to make filming less challenging. For example, I had to fly the helicopter from the "outside" to get some of the shots I got. In addition, I love having the cars driving by in the background, sadly, during replay, the cars DON'T MOVE, at least not in the current version. So I have to shoot the scene from the outside of the aircraft while flying from the outside of the aircraft and do it "live" so the vehicles are moving in the background. I will also be trying to see if we can get a Playstation type controller to be able to use it to control the camera movements. Right now, using the arrows is much less than precise. Indi: It is amazing how much audio will add to a production. So turn up the volume and go for it. I will be producing some additional films for them and I am looking forward to the new version, new planes, new add ons, etc. I will be putting the call out to developers if they want to submit various planes, textures, etc. More to come... Thanks for the kind words. Paul P.S. Hopefully, all this posted in the proper place...
  7. This was the video I had posted on YouTube that got Laminar Research to contact me and ask me to create a film for X-Plane. I actually liked this one very much but wanted to challenge myself even more. Some of the footage from this made it into the final cut of the new film. I'm hoping to work with Austin and Laminar Research to hopefully develop some additional filmmaking tools to make my job easier as a virtual filmmaker. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XquTL6Muvb4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XquTL6Muvb4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XquTL6Muvb4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
  8. This was one of the early test films that I created before we settled on what became the final piece. Hard to edit these great planes. Ignore the horrible Super Scooper landing on the lake!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATdvSsAfcQ0&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATdvSsAfcQ0&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATdvSsAfcQ0&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
  9. This video was commissioned by Laminar Research to premiere at the Osh Kosh Air Show last year in their booth. I was quite flattered they asked me after having seen some of my work on You Tube. There are no visual effects in this video whatsoever, everything you see is from X-Plane. Only audio was sweetened. Turn up your volume and enjoy. Some of my favorites are: While going through the airport, you can hear the announcement for the "white zone is for loading and unloading of passengers..." Between flying, filming, replaying the flights, filming the replayed flights, editing, sweetening, etc., this took about 4 weeks of full time work. I have a collection of flights that were not used in the film which I may make available some day for others if they wish to make their own films. I hope you enjoy the video. Feedback is always appreciated and welcome. Thanks in advance.
