Take Command! CRJ-200 Version 1.3 Update Released!
philipp replied to Cameron's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
od1: Which version of Windows do you use _exactly_ ? Philipp -
Unfortunately didn't find it yet. :/ Complete mystery as of now. Be assured I am down in the avionics compartment searching everywhere...

On X-Aviation, it is only one download. During installation you are asked if you want to install the X-Plane 10 version. Philipp

Introducing Remote CDU, the easy way to expand your CRJ cockpit
philipp replied to philipp's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
Grab yourself the updated vasFMC plugin here: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=13356 Should be no problem now to have them both active. Philipp -
Introducing Remote CDU, the easy way to expand your CRJ cockpit
philipp replied to philipp's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
Looks like I shot myself in the foot SCS (for vasFMC 2.10) is built with an ages-old option to disable the kqueue in order to make it work on OSX 10.4 (Tiger). CRJ is built without this option, since we don't need to support anything older than 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Result: CRJ wants to use the kqueue, but SCS disabled it. Ouch! The reason I didn't see it is I am running a custom build SCS. I will push an update to the vasFMC plugin ASAP, dropping the 10.4 Tiger support (i don't think anyone uses this anymore). For the time being, keep SCS disabled. Philipp -

Thanks, this is it. Can you try to disable the vasFMC plugin temporarily (rename scs/mac.xpl zo scs/mac.xpl.backup) and try again? Looks like they are listening on the same socket when they shouldn't. Strange, because I have them running here as well. We'll see. Philipp -
Introducing Remote CDU, the easy way to expand your CRJ cockpit
philipp replied to philipp's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
This is quite possible if you already have another plugin running in X-Plane that also opens a network socket. Like XPUIPC for example, or the XHSI plugin, or ... If you once allowed ANY X-Plane component to open a socket, it won't ask anymore. Can you post the report from the Console (Applications/Utilities/Console.app)? Philipp -

Damn. Seems I simply forgot to give it to Cameron. Well, there you go : Philipp -
Hey guys, turns out I forgot to include the little pdf that explains how to use the remote CDU in the download. Shame on me! You can instead get it here: Remote-CDU-Howto.pdf Philipp

Working in the XP10 version of the CRJ200
philipp replied to Japo32's topic in Canadair CRJ-200 - Released!
Please stay paient, it should not take long for Cameron to upload the installers. Cameron has more work with it then Nicolas, since Cam has to build his own installers, and he also does a lot of compatibility testing with other X-A aircraft. Knowing that, I usually give the files to Cameron about a day earlier than to Nicolas, so you get the updates at approximately the same time. But this time the org store was even faster than I presumed. Sorry. Philipp -
Hi folks, just read great news from Torsten:

While everyone is crazy trying X-Plane 10, I ironed out the last bugs of the update and did the (hopefully!) last compile. Expect to see a rollout soon -
Folks, update your GPU drivers! This is crucial! There was a HUGE improvement in openGL performance of both the ATI and the nVidia cards when they pushed the updates for Rage. So if you haven't updated your driver since 2011-10-10 you must update now. Philipp

The closure of vasFMC has no effect on vascore, since it is based on the public 2.09 version. The fork of vascore happened before the development of the closed-source vasFMC 2.10, which was unfortunately discontinued by Alex Wemmer. So there is absolutely nothing to fear for CRJ customers. Philipp

assigning autopilot commands to keyboard-buttons
philipp replied to andalusi's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
Hi Andi, the list of all CRJ datarefs, not only the autpilot, but every single button in the cockpit, is here: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php/topic/1871-list-of-all-crj-datarefs-cockpit-builders-heat-up-your-soldering-irons/ To use them as keyboard or joystick commands, there exist various solutions, either Button2Dataref by X-Friese, or xjoymap with the excellent config file. In the video I see you armed the LOC1 while there was NO RECEPTION on the localizer: You see in the FMA the white LOC1, while at the bottom you see the HSI needle is NOT deflected. Then, at about 1:30 in the video, you get a needle deflection. Could you try : Navigate to intercept with using only HDG mode, LOC not armed, until the HSI needle shows a deflection. Then, when you are on intercept course, and the needle is deflected, press APPR button. I'm sure it works then, as I have flown a thousand ILS approaches myself already with the CRJ

There is quite a bunch of pictures from several people showing up now, for a list of links see http://fsweekend.com I just want to share those: The CRJ on display, note the FMS on Javier's tablet below the screens And "solving beta problems" featuring Austin and me:

State of CRJ plugin compatibility issues and how you can help
philipp replied to philipp's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
Good news! I met Torsten Spiering, developer of XPUIPC at FsWeekend, and he has his bugfixed XPUIPC almost ready. I have received a beta of XPUIPC that works perfectly with the CRJ. Philipp -
Hey guys, back at home, and totally exhausted. Almost no voice left, my cold has gotten worse and I'm still tired from driving home after a day that started at 5:23am when Ben Supnik called me to get out of bed... Fortunately, it turned out that my TrackIR was NOT stolen, it just got messed up with the equipment of the group of Dutch simmers who resided next to us. They found the next day they had one device more than they used to, and because of the additional micro-USB adapter I had in the box it could quickly be identified as mine. So we had it at least on Sunday, and Javier could demonstrate the fluidity of the CRJ 3d cockpit. My demo machine was able to run X-Plane 9 at totally maxed out settings, and almost all visitors concluded it looks better than FSX - because the ground textures are way sharper. Hey, we even sold a CRJ to an FSX users who promised to try the X-Plane demo! Also, we showed off the CRJ inside X-Plane 10 beta7, with simply amazing clouds. Unfortunately, I had to keep an eye on all our stuff while Austin was giving his presentation, so I could not see the official show. Javier and Jörg were there and briefed my quickly thereafter. Austin had to deal with pretty bad equipment and a projector that made everything look green. Also on Sunday Tom Kyler, Cameron and his wife showed up unexpectedly. What a pleasant surprise! Now if there is anyone more enthusiastic about X-P 10 than Austin, it is Tom. We were so busy we could barely take any pictures, so I hope some visitors put their pictures on-line so you can get an impression. I will keep an eye out. Philipp

This is the interim update from FSWeekend: -My TrackIR was stolen from our stand -My belt had an uncontained failure, uncontained as in "pieces were flying away" (see picture) -Demoing the CRJ on 3200x1200 screensize is gorgeous. -People like controlling the FMS from the IPad Sorry for any support requests currently queuing up - you will be treated normally on Monday. After discussing with fluxx via email, I want to share the two keypoints we found out to be troublesome for him. Perhaps it helps other people also: -The datarefs listed here are only avialable after the CRJ has been loaded. That means, binding the dataref on X-Plane startup will fail, as they aren't there yet. You have to do the datref-lookup after the plane has loaded -The button datarefs have a spring-back logic like the buttons themselves: You write "1" to them, the press is sensed, then they are immediately overwritten with "0" to make the buttons "spring back". If you continue writing "1" into a button dataref, this logic won't work. Philipp
