[SOLVED] CRJ-200 installed then x-plane crashed
philipp replied to Hover's topic in Version 1.0 Support - Closed!
Glad you got it working. Would you mind telling us what exactly you changed? Philipp -
Could you PLEASE refrain from fighting over this. We can conclude it is NOT a CRJ issue but a limitation of BOTH X-Plane being 32bit AND the scenery having some kind of fault. Nothing to be discussed in the CRJ forum. Philipp

Okay, thanks. Please try if the error occurs with standard pressure, 1013mb, 29.92 in. I guess the QNH difference has to be fed into the cabin pressure controller in some way. In the 727 there was a small sheet with numbers on the engineer panel to do this in the CRJ I have to look it up in my Canadair documentation. Added to the list of my issues under investigation. Thanks for info. I will set up my Saitek throttles and give it a try.

mutestyles, thanks for feedback. XPUIPC will be investigated, too. -
Are you using downloaded weather? Does the local QNH differ A LOT from 1013? Philipp

[SOLVED] CRJ-200 installed then x-plane crashed

Your logfile shows vascore doesn't load. Perhaps this is an installer bug. Can you confirm that under Resources/plugins/vascore there are win.xpl, mac.xpl, lin.xpl, QtCore4.dll and the liblinux folder? If it is not there, reinstallation might solve the problem. -
Thanks for the effort. But 330 at FL110 is clearly to fast. DPNY is right on this. However, you are right that the turn anticipation of the FMS should be longer at higher speeds. This is an FMS issue, not an A/P issue. I added this to my list of confirmed bugs. I discussed with Javier, and he found the culprit. Added to the list of confirmed bugs. Thanks for your collaboration. Philipp

The screenshot clearly shows the LDG alt at 0ft. The plane is parked at 2600 ft. The landing alt indicating on the screen is 0 ft. This is not going to work. Please refer to the manual for the adjustment knob for the landing altitude. Philipp

please refer to this topic: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=2102.0 Reverser toggle will be no problem when your joystick input on the throttle axis is exactly 0%. Please confirm calibration As long as you don't set a thrust limit, you can push the engine into redline. As expected. Maybe a question of personal preferences. If there is sufficient interest, I'm sure Javier can make cycle buttons (like the flap lever). You can drag them all with the mouse. Philipp

Kesomir, please post the crash_log.txt of the error. Philipp -
[SOLVED] CRJ-200 installed then x-plane crashed
philipp replied to Hover's topic in Version 1.0 Support - Closed!
Mutestyles, you have an installation error. The logfile says the CRJ can't load ANY navdata and the crash_log shows a crash in a routine that IS NOT part of the CRJ. Please uninstall the CRJ and remove all modifications you made by hand (copying things around). Then make a clean install and tell me the contents of the folders Resources/plugins/vascore and Aircraft/X-Aviation/CRJ-200/plugins/CRJAvionics Philipp -
[SOLVED] CRJ-200 installed then x-plane crashed
philipp replied to Hover's topic in Version 1.0 Support - Closed!
I need more information on that. Telling me it was "KERN PROTECTION error" is like going to the repair shop and saying "my car drives weird, please fix". I need the full crash report that is opened when you click "report" and the crash_log.txt from X-Plane. Philipp EDIT: Thank you. Now this is something I can start with. 1. Your X-Plane log shows a LOT of scenery errors. I'm not sure this has anything to do with the CRJ, but it might cause a memory leak in the future. So consider yourself warned, you have a scenery installation with missing resources in your X-Plane. 2. Can you tell me the Airport where the error occurs? Is it doing the the tutorial flight, or are you doing another flight? Please post the flightplan here. Philipp -
Re: About those little, medium big bugs that makes me crazy!

Sorry, Javier obviously missed the QtCore4.dll. I corrected this. It HAS to be there, otherwise plugin won't work. As for the overshooting issue, please remain in your topic, where I wrote a reply. -
[SOLVED] CRJ-200 installed then x-plane crashed
philipp replied to Hover's topic in Version 1.0 Support - Closed!
As far as I can see until now, the EADT x737 plugin is the culprit. I cannot tell why until now, but for now make sure that you -don't have NEITHER the CRJ NOR the x737 plugin installed system-wide. The 737 plugin is an aircraft plugin . If you have it installed system-wide (in Resources/plugins), you either have an old version or your x737 installation is WRONG. -The CRJ plugin is also an aircraft-plugin. If you installed it system-wide, than you made an ERROR. By NO MEANS copy the CRJAvionics plugin to Resources/plugins. It will crash. -As long as both plugins are correctly installed per-aircraft plugins, make sure (for now) that you don't load x737 and CRJ in the same sim session: If you have loaded the x737, stop and restart X-Plane before loading the CRJ, if you have loaded the CRJ, stop and restart X-Plane before loading the x737. Open a popup - you will see no lag there. It's a tradeoff. The 3d-gauges will refresh slightly slower in order to save frames. If you open a 2d popup however, refresh rate for this window will be boosted - because popup means you need super-precise output. Philipp

Thanks for the reports, guys. Much appreciated!

Of course they are... The THROTTLE levers must be at the 0% detent for the reverser toggle to work - the RPM of the engines is completely unimportant.

This is the list of CONFIRMED bugs so far: - VOR freq roundoff error on 1st Waypoint select page - second Waypoint Select page does not render correctly - Toggling frequencies twice in the RTU causes roundoff error - FMS waypoint turn anticipation too small at speeds >270kts - ONLY ON MAC: Popup texture of FMS has a small gap where you can see through - Transparency issue with 3d-FMS and backlighting: terrain appears through the buttons if you look very close - Reverser toggle causes spike in throttle input that sometimes prevents reverser deactivation - can't set transponder code starting with "0" - Thrust limiter can "stuck" the throttle and prevent pulling it back - Thrust limiter can be overridden if two separate joystick axis are assigned as throttles - Y/D light is inverted - ONLY ON MAC: Removing the display frames can lead to CTD - cabin differential pressure calculation does not take into account QNH - this is an X-Plane bug, not fixable in CRJ - CRJ hydraulic settings are persistant after loading other A/C, confuses controls of other A/C - flight director roll indiction can be wrong depending on the pitch error, which is confusing in manual flight CONFIRMED incompatibility with EADT x737, v 4.2.2 As long as both plugins are correctly installed per-aircraft plugins, make sure (for now) that you don't load x737 and CRJ in the same sim session: If you have loaded the x737, stop and restart X-Plane before loading the CRJ, if you have loaded the CRJ, stop and restart X-Plane before loading the x737. BUGS UNDER INVESTIGATION: - "Boxes" appearing on the PFD waypoint display on Gentoo Linux - not seen on any other Linux so far - navaid display option on MFD causes X-Plane microstutters on Windows - under investigation - LEGS page causes microstutters, especially on Mac - under investigation *UPDATE 5/12/11* All confirmed issues adressed in upcoming patch.

Okay, could we please deal with one issue at a time: 1. autopilot overshoots waypoints - now I need a specific flightplan to measure this issue. Please give me -your flightplan -weather conditions -load/fuel conditions and the exact waypoint where excessive overshooting occurs, along with speed and altitude at this time. To confirm a bug, I need data. 2. poor loop sync of the outside engine shutdown sound. That's something Javier will have a look at 3. Terrain shines through FMS?? I don't get it. Sorry, even at your screenshot, I don't see any terrain at the area you marked red. There is a small isue with the FMS popup background graphic in the Mac version, I can confirm that now. But in 3d (non-popup) I don't see such... Sorry, if there really is an error, we need a better screenshot. 4. Can't engage thrust reversers with button - take a look at this thread, please: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=2102.0 5. NAV and COM 1/2 - RTFM. There are two ways you can access them: - via the NAVRAD page on the CDU (easiest way to tune frequencies) - or as a backup solution, look at the radio panel, there is a button labelled 1/2. 6. Roundup error when tuning through the radio console - confirmed. This is a bug. It does not occur on the FMS page though. Philipp

Yup, logfile shows clearly it doesn't crash in a CRJ routine, but in some X-Plane scenery drawing stuff. Seems you are unable to run both CRJ and Valencia scenery on your computer, as they both need quite a lot of memory for the high resolution textures. Going with either one you should be fine. Note: Javier, we must mention this in the manual. Philipp

Cameron will have a look at the installer. He will for sure fix this soon. Philipp

The thrust levers must be COPLETELY in Idle until you can activate the reversers. You CAN definitely activate them by key or joystick button command, not only with the mouse. I sense you have a calibration issue with the joystick. When your joystick throttle is fully aft, it might still be sending 1% or 2% throttle to X-Plane. Then the reversers are locked. Either: -Calibrate your throttle axis carefully -or set a bigger deadzone at idle -or just press F1 once to make sure the throttle is really idle. Then you should be able to activate the reversers without further ado. Philipp

For the door to open, these two conditions must be met: -Cabin differential pressure below 0.1psi -parking brake set You must land at destination airport with a correctly set pressure altitude, otherwise cabin will not be depressurized after landing and door won't open. You find both the landing alt and the differential pressure indication on the status page of the secondary EICAS. Philipp
