The reversers are triggered by a quick compression on the weight on wheels (wow)-sensor. "Quick" means a fairly hard landing. Which is GOOD, especially in wet runway conditions, since you want instant traction of the wheels. "Touching" or "Feeling" for the runway, whilst greatly appreciated by most passengers, is NOT a good landing by airmen standards. Philipp

Are you sure you set the NAV source switch on the side panel to the right source? Also, did you by any chance press the XFR button on the autopilot (causing the AP to use NAV2 receiver when source selector is set to NAV1 and vice versa)? Philipp

Introducing Remote CDU, the easy way to expand your CRJ cockpit
philipp replied to philipp's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
Only on the same subnet. To mess with other people's CDUs over the internet, you need their WAN IP (or a dyndns account), they must have set port forwarding on their router, and they must allow connections from the "outside" (WAN) to the port the CRJ remote CDU server runs on. Philipp -
Introducing Remote CDU, the easy way to expand your CRJ cockpit

Note the future tense in the announcement. Philipp -
You have to ask Sandy Barbour how you can add datarefs to his plugin. As I don't own Saitek panels, I also don't use the plugin. I'm not sure if Sandy offers some kind of config file where you can dump the datarefs in. You have to ask him this at his section in the org forum: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=18906 Alternatively, if the Saitek plugin offers to assign X-Plane commands, you may take a look at the excellent script for xjoymap: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=13581 Philipp

Introducing Remote CDU, the easy way to expand your CRJ cockpit
philipp replied to philipp's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
The CDU can be zoomed in and out, preserving the aspect ratio. It's a website. You can zoom like you can zoom any website on the tablet browser. -
It's been less than 24hrs since your last post. Please understand that we are currently pressing hard to prepare our exhibition at FSWeekend, and we are only two people, and neither of us possesses magic powers. Your objection has been noted and is on my list of things that need to be checked, once the presentation for FSWeekend is set-up and stable. Philipp

Looking forward to see you again Unfortunately, Alex Wemmer, founder of vasFMC, has decided to quit work on vasFMC for personal reasons. That's sad, but part of it will continue to live in the CRJ...

This indeed looks like it is the GPU shadow. I have never seen it, but I don't have REX installed - Javier, do you have an idea what is going on there? More EICAS pages are planned, but currently FMS improvements have highest priority on our list. The Master Caution and Master Warning sounds are currently only for Mac and Linux users, pending a Gizmo update - they will come for Windows users soon. Philipp

Yes, meeting Austin is indeed a very good reason to come to FSWeekend ! Philipp

Dhruv, certainly we can sort this out. I have an FCOM dated Jan31/03. It says that automatic transition of the reference in Autopilot Speed Mode changes from IAS to MACH at FL 316 (I don't know why they choose this number). Could you please indicate volume, chapter and page (roughly, since we might have different revisions) where I can find info when manual changeover can be triggered? And, please no insulting here. We are working hard to improve your sim experience, with currently the third FREE update in the working, and don't want to be called "borderline ridiculous". Thanks, Philipp

Hello, all, this is some hot news from the development headquarter: I have been asked numerous times if it was possible to have the CDU (the "FMS console") on a separate screen, like vasFMC. While many of you like the 3D cockpit with 2D FMS popup, there are people who would like to utilize a second monitor for the CDU. I usually have my notebook at hand when flying, to display charts and checklists in the browser (printing charts is so last century!). It always bothered me I couldn't have my CRJ FMS on it. Until today. Today I want to unveil the new remote CDU for the CRJ, that allows you to operate the CRJ FMS from outside X-Plane, on another screen or networked computer. A networked computer is perfect for driving a touchscreen if you build your homecockpit. But, wouldn't it be great if you could use the most amazing touchscreen in the world as your CDU? With CRJ remote CDU, you can: The remote CDU is written in HTML5, and it works on iPad! (or any Android Tablet. Or Blackberry Playbook. Or Kindle Fire. Or HP Touchpad. Just anything that has a decent HTML5 capable browser). Here it is on a Android Honeycomb tablet: Remote CDU will be shown in a hands-on demo at FSWeekend. Remote CDU will be available as an upgrade to the CRJ for a small fee of $499, and it comes with a free iPad included. No, just kidding It will be available as a free update for all CRJ customers, and if it makes you want to buy an iPad, well, go ahead... Philipp

VTSP airport doesn't have any STARs in my database - which AIRAC data are you using?

Red ILS Bug for the Locater is not there / Crash with XPUIPC
philipp replied to TOBS's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
I have never touched the ILS or PFD indications for v1.2. Surely I did not remove anything... About XPUIPC, see here: Torsten (Spyy) has all the information he needed, so perhaps you should send him a reminder. I did all what I could... Philipp -
Good choice!! You will have much fun with X-Plane 10 with such a powerful video card. "Somewhere" probably refers to posting on Google+: Yes, this technology comes to the CRJ - but don't ask for a date. Philipp
-
There has been exactly 0 change to the autopilot from 1.1.1 to 1.2 so whatever you are experiencing now is probably because you haven't flown the CRJ for a while before the last update came out ... Philipp

The log file alone does not show any hint as to why it would crash. When X-Plane crashes, it should generate a crash report you find under Application/Utilities/Console then click "user Diagnostic Report" and look for the most recent entry with "X-Plane" in it. Paste the contents here and we'll have a look. Philipp

Just select another one. Click the LSK next to the selected STAR, then the list of all STARs appears again, then click the one you want to use now. Philipp

Hi folks, The new board also has a "mobile skin" that you can select using the "Change theme" link, which would be extremely helpful to use when browsing X-Pilot on my phone. However, this setting is memorized for my user account, that means when I select the mobile theme on my phone, the next time I visit the forum on my computer, I also get the mobile skin there. When I open the page on my Android, the link "use mobile version" appears that is not there if browse with my computer. According to the IPBoard help, this should set a cookie in the browser that triggered the use of the mobile skin - regardless whether I was logged in or not - and since the cookie was only on my phone, it wouldn't effect browsing on my computer. I deleted all cookies and caches on my Android, and clicked the "use mobile version" link several times. It opens the url ?settingNewSkin=2&setAsMobile=1&setAsMobile=1 but the theme stays the default one. I would really appreciate if you could take a look at this. Philipp

Hey folks, four weeks left until the world's biggest flight simulator event, the FSWeekend at Lelystad, the Netherlands. For two days the Aviodrome at Lelystad airport is all about flight simulation! If you have taken a look at the list of exhibitors, you will have already spotted the CRJ-200! So, would you like to chat with the developer, take a sneak peek at current development or get yourself the CRJ on CD (with an autograph )? Then meet us at FSWeekend 2011!

Increase or decrease cabin/cockpit temperature
philipp replied to davidngr's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
You will be able to set restrictions and get ADVISORY T/C, T/D and E/D waypoints, but NO automatic guidance, as the real Rockwell Collins FMS4200 doesn't have this. Philipp -
Increase or decrease cabin/cockpit temperature
philipp replied to davidngr's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
Currently cabin and cockpit temperature are modeled like this: If started cold&dark, the initial temperature of cabin and cockpit is the same as the outside temperature. If the packs are on, the temperature is gradually regulated to 22 °C (the standard setting). If packs are off, temperature trends against outside air temperature again. FMC improvements are coming along fine. New pseudo-waypoints are finished, STAR and SID transitions are implemented, currently I'm working on the holdings. So there is A LOT going on now, however, DON'T ask me for a date when you will get hands on it. Philipp -
Pre-programming this is currently not possible. You can however approach the point from the direction you want as inbound course and then just press "HOLD HERE". Philipp

JRollon Planes announces collaboration with Turbine Sound Studios
philipp replied to philipp's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
Kamil, I did a little tweaking and also updated the underlying rendering code to the latest and greatest version. It is hard to say if it will fix your specific issue, as this is indeed a very rare one, which seems only to occur in a combination of "AMD CPU and Linux" and seemingly only with your specific CPU, as we have other users on AMD processors, who didn't notice unusual stuttering. Unfortunately I also cannot test it, since I have no AMD PC. In fact, it is extraordinary hard for me to adress an issue that I cannot track, because I cannot reproduce it and use my instrumentation and tools (profilers) on it. So far I can only say, I did what could be done, and I certainly hope it happens to help your specific issue. Philipp PS: Update is compiled and uploading... Shouldn't take long now
