    Here is somethting to try:

Tune the correct frequency of 109.70 Mhz for the ILS 22 EDDC (IDRW). I don´t think it ever was 109.75...

Let me know how that goes!?

    Cheers, Jan

I'll try this when I get home from work. I've read your post bellow the qouted one and it's an interesting read. I always thought the ILS frequencies are updated with navigraph.

  2. The same thing happened to me yesterday landing at Dresden ( EDDC ) ILS 22. I was tuned to the frequency that it is on the chart ( 109.75 ( 218 )) and I double check if it's the same on the approach page, but the ILS needle was not showing. I have "disable downwind ILS" disabled under general options. Same with global failures. I made a small clip to show you my approach configuration. I also armed the "APP" in case it would start working, but to no avail. Luckily in my case the visibility was good to make a visual landing.

I offered you a solution on how you can run the sim in 4k without any problems. Run it in window mode and use the borderless windows program which will make the picture full screen while still in window mode. If you're flying tubeliners it's recommended to run it in borderless window because surfing the web is more convenient.

    Hi Denco,

I just tried the "737 walz" in 11.10b4 that my real instructor demonstrated during my initial landing training in 96:

Approach normally, but don´t arm the spoilers! Add, 1-2% N1 just before touchdown. Now float down the runway, touching down with the left wheel, then the right wheel, then the left... The ground effect will keep you floating without speed loss.

Don't worry, like I said on the .org I'm going to believe a real pilot over my instincts anytime ;). I'm currently flying my second leg with the first one being quite successful on landing considering the turbulent weather at San Francisco.

It's been a while since I last flown in XP, been waiting on the 11.10 release and ground wash implementation. After doing some test flights I still can't believe how well this plane feels when hand flying. Truly something I've newer experienced in any other flight simulator especially not in XP. I really hope this isn't your last plane and I also hope that the next one you make is going to be something popular, like 738 or 747, so that you get payed in tons for your talent. But I also understand that you guys are still planning to improve the 733 so I don't mind the wait.

Yes, I can properly flare this plane (you saw my video) and Austin is considering the ground effect on the stabilizer fixed at this point, and so do I.

There is probably something wrong with your joystick settings or the way you set the CG, the airspeed you land at or the something else.

I can fly and land the plane just fine and it does not handle much differently in the landing than the real aircraft did for me.

    Cheers, Jan

I saw the video, but never realized it was yours. I had my suspicions thought :) . Time I get some practice in I guess. How does one calculate the CG. Most payware planes will do this for you so I got kind of spoiled by that.

And I feel the ground effect fix .. Its almost flying on rails now compared to 11.05 during takeoff and landing. Forgot how to fly without this bug.

    Seriously?

I've done numerous test over the last few days with mixed results. I noticed that the severity depends on the aircraft but almost all of the aircraft had the tendency to nose drop on to the runway. The planes I tested were IXEG, FlyTeAir Piper Arrow 3, Cherokee140 and stock Cessna 172. IXEG and the arrow 3 feared the worse and it literally felt as if there was a wall blocking my pitch on a flare. The others felt better but the nose drop was still felt and it still requires too much back pressure on a yoke.

    Those are just my observations.

if strict procedures are not strictly followed, the aircraft must fail.

Can you be more specific about this because different airliners use different procedures? If you're talking about startup procedure's then I cant see how not strictly following them can make the plane fail. You wont be able to start the plane if the correct procedures are not followed but I cant see how anything can fail if you don't follow them strictly.

What we need is a wear and tear system that remembers the state of the plane. I really love how in the PMDG the cockpit is saved as you leave it and I'm hoping will get to see something similar in the IXEG in the far future.

  8. Keep the cloud view distance at or bellow 10000 sq km. That's the only way to keep the frames at or above 30 fps, but even then the fps will sometimes dip bellow 30.

We believe that we have the lights "just right" - based on my 25 years (10 of those in 737´s) experience in flying jet airliners.

I envy you, but I also realize that it required a lot of work.

Thanks for making the 733 a free update for XP 11. Since I've bought this plane a few months after XP 11 was released I really appreciate the gesture. Now where are the screenshots of the NG? :P

  10. I think most people are expecting too much from SkyMaxx. I have the cloud distance set to 20000  sq-km which I find is the best setting for visual and performance. With really heavy weather I will rarely dip bellow 30fps.

    Oh yeah how So?

I've done some test's starting from dusk without SkyMaxx and the plane was not black on the non lit side and the terrain was not covered in the strange fog ( altought the default terrain was more foggy and the scene was darker in general ). Setting the reflection option from minimum to low did not made any difference though, hence my thought that vanilla lightning and terrain is not affected by the reflection slider. With SkyMaxx doing the same test's the plane was black on the non lit side and the terrain was covered in fog when the reflections detail was set to minimum. Maybe this is Xplane's bug which shows it self trough SkyMaxx or this is not so much of a bug and the Hosek-Wilkies sky model requires the reflections to be set to low to function properly?

  12. Doing more tests with SMP v4 I noticed that performance was improved compared to the v3. Setting the cloud distance to 20000 would not hit fps as much as it did in v3. For comparison with v4 and above cloud distance I was able to stay at around 30 fps in areas with heavy cloudy. Before in v3 that view distance was impossible to use because of the stuttering. Any setting above 10000 would induce too much stuttering which for the most part seem's to be fixed. The test's were done using XP11.

I can't wait for the next version because of some great features and more performance updates. The only feature not listed that I would like to see in the next version implemented is the cloud brightness setting. They still seem a bit too grey for my taste.

    BZEUrFJ.png

The new things I really liked:

    -Particle rain and snow

    -Performance

    -HD Puffs

-Probably more features I haven't yet noticed

Areas I'm hoping will get more improved over time:

    - Better clouds coloring. I would really like to see top of the clouds to be more  illuminated then the bottom because of the sunlight, specially the storm clouds.

    - Storm cells being displayed as storm cells http://pre07.deviantart.net/bb71/th/pre/i/2011/101/c/d/storm_cell_by_sunflowercyclist-d3dsg7m.jpg

    - Anvils and in general more cloud variety. Right now they can still look very synchronized and flat. Picture of AS16 for inspiration :)

    SpzzrOh.jpg

    - Clouds redrawing is still happening. I'm pretty sure this problem can be completely eliminated by working with Laminar.

-The rest I'll leave at the imagination of the team ;)

In general I think that SMP v4 is a step in the right direction and an overall great improvement compared to v3. Definitely worth a buy. Can't wait for the future :)

    this crash is about:

    -no vram

    -damaged scenery package (most likely)

I would recommend you remove temporarily the entire sub-folders below:

    1. Custom Scenery/SimHeaven_VFR-Landmarks_World/

    2. Custom Scenery/SimHeaven_VFR-Aerials_World/

try again the same flight and confirm no more crashes please.

note: i can assure you this crash is not originated on the ixeg bird.

After using only the default scenery I had another CTD today when flying the IXEG.

it doesn't look any normal, maybe we can help

It seems that you are up to something. I've done 4 flights using the default scenery and not a single crash. The only problem now is that I don't know which scenery is the culprit. I don't mind loosing them but I would still like to have MisterX's airports. Does anyone use them with the IXEG? Also it seems weird that a scenery is making IXEG unstable. What a weird world we live in :)
