Hello Alfredo !
Thank you for the news, this is very interesting. Like some people on the McPhat Studios forum I would also like to know more about the features, the list of the simulated systems, custom FMS or not... and if this product will be released as a Windows only product (like Reality-XP, REX and Just Flight), or if it will be compatible with GNU/Linux, Mac OS and Windows (like Carenado) ? So I'm looking forward more news.
Happy building and flying ! 8)
Hi MdMax, and thank you:
Yes, it will work in all systems because it won't have plugins

Hi,
As some of you have noticed, we have moved to McPhat Studios, taking with us the ATR 72-500, so the ATR is now full blown McPhat project. So good news, because that means the ATR will have McPhat quality.
For those few of you who may not know, McPhat Studios is a company dedicated -until now-, to texture models developed for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. They have worked, and keep working, for the main developers: PMDG, Wilco, Feelthere, Coolsky, Flight1, Captain Sim, etc. I say "until now" because for the past year McPhat Studios worked on their first 3D model, a DC-9 for Coolsky published by Flight1. As they see a bright future in X-Plane it was a win-win situation for both us and McPhat Studios to make the move and bring along our ATR-72-500.
We've opened a thread at McPhat Studios forum: http://www.mcphatstudios.net/index.php?option=com_kunena&Itemid=94&func=view&catid=67&id=22599 to keep you informed about the developement.
But, of course, I will still post here too, although for news hot of the press, the McPhat Studios forums will be the place to be! Let me thank you again for your interest, comments and patience.
At the moment I can asure you that the ATR 72 will have an accurate flight model, tested by a real ATR 72 pilot, the 3d model that you already know plus McPhat high quality textures. With High Quality, I mean not only quality, but also High Definition. You may want to read what industry professionals say about their work here : http://www.mcphatstudios.net/endorsements/
We may have more exciting news about the project, but we will disclose it once the deals have been made! Stay tuned,
Regards,
Alfredo

They are not in x-plane, just in the video :-\

Thank you
For the moment we have done Iberia-Air Nostrum, American Eagle and Nok. Next liveries will probably be Binter, British Airways Connect, Airlinair-Air France and Alitalia Express

Thank you

For those who see frogs on ice cubes (imageshack issue), let's try with photobucket:

Thank you. Yes, the displays are 90% custom made and they are pop-up. I'm working only with plane-maker, no plugins, so that means no FMS and simplified systems. To give you an example: the ATR electrical system has 11 buses, but the maximum number of buses you can set in Plane-Maker is 4. But i think i'm getting to the point where you will think there's a plugin behind. Anyway, i hope to see future versions with FMS and more detailed systems. If we find a programmer i think this plane could be better than flight1 ATR, with better flight model and better graphics

Thank you...
Well, still many things to do and bla, bla,... (i think 85% of the plane is done) but finally here are some wide shots of the cockpit:
Next time we will take a closer look
-
Thank you.
And another one...:
-
Thank you, and happy bird-days...:
-
Hi, here you got some medium shots, we'll get into detail next time:
I'm working on the cockpit, trying to make everything with 3d instead of bitmaps to get better fps. Here is an example: the altimeter where, not only the needle, but the numerical odometer-type drums are 3d animated objects, not bitmaps:

Those images are simply unbeleivable
Congratulations!

Thank you guys

Hi
After a break due to personal issues, we've finished the exterior model and the cockpit. The exterior has been unwrapped and is being painted and the cockpit is ready for unwrapping. Now i'm going to finish the flight model before we paint it and start animating it. So, here are some screenshots. As always, these renders are made just with one light and ambient occlusion on. It will look better in the sim:
-
The ATR goes slowly because i've been moving from one continent to another; but we have made some progress and tonight i'll post some pics
Keep up the good work!
-
Great job, jack. I've been checking your website and the pic from outside of the left window is amazing Are you planning to make a video soon?
-
Beautiful! Great work, jack
-
Thank you Gjalp!
New year, new pics. As you can see, it's not finished, but the main part is done. When i come back from holidays i will make more renders of the exterior model.
Happy new year!
-
You say my model is very nice, but look at that!
-
Thak you guys.
You are right pilotman
Flyingjackal, i think your Dash and this ATR will make a nice couple
I've learned many things with the F.27; the ATR will be (it has to be) far better than the F.27
-
Hi
It's not finished, but i want to show you a few renders (no tricks: just one light and ambient occlusion):
I have to model the nose gear, props, doors, antenae and add a lot of details.
Besides a detailed exterior 3D model, it will have a functional, manipulator based, 3D cockpit (no 2D panel).
Since i'm not a programmer i can't step outside plane-maker, so i can't think about accurate systems, FMC, etc. But, who knows, maybe in the future...
Regards

Business nature is a bit more complex and contradictory than that, giving rise to things like old guilds or modern oligopolies... Anyway, Javier is sure more complex than business
