  1. I have to agee with you on that. For example Peter Hager is selling his aircraft without a good 3d model. He says he has one in the works but who knows when he will put that for sale. Also he has the only A330's/A340's for x-plane which is really putting a bad name for X-Plane since many Airbus lovers who have come to X-Plane see this lack and resort to other simulators. His aircraft may have very nice panels and flight dynamics but most people tend to look more at the eye candy. Just my 2 cents.

I don't know where you got the idea that his A330's and A340's are the only ones for X-Plane.

  2. I'm by no means a professional pilot- I've barely started training, if that. But if I was in your situation, I'd go with the 152. My belief is that you must learn the old before you learn the new. As Dhruv said, the 152 will teach you many lessons you will use later. I know how tempting it is to choose the DA 20 (I looked at the pics- wow) but I think you'd regret it later.

Best of luck with school, and feel grateful you have such a great place to train right out your door!

  3. I've used a Saitek Aviator for just about.. oh, a year now. At first it feels light and flimsy, but it has held up well through the time I've used it, providing you treat it well. The button layout is likely different than anything you've ever used, so you may want to take a good look at images of the 'stick before you buy.

  4. I had a slight improvement in x-plane performance when I upgraded to leopard. To me the new features in leopard were worth the upgrade. If you haven't bought leopard consider waiting untill snow leopard comes out before upgrading OS.

    Second gen 15" MBP

    2 ghz intel core duo

    2 gb of ram

    ATI X1600 128mb

Too late, I already bought it...  :) oh well. Thanks very much for your feedback.

Still welcoming other's reports as well.  :P

  5. Well, I've been holding back on upgrading to Leopard due to my hate for it's interface... but after using it a bit, I'm feeling like I may be ready to move up. My question is, (and I know it's been a while for many of you) how was X-plane affected when you switched? Did the framerate drop or rise?

    Computer specs:

    1st/2nd gen MacBook

2 Ghz Intel Core Duo processor

    2 GB RAM

Intel GMA 950, 64 MB VRAM

Old and slow, but it works. I'm just worried that upgrading to Leopard may push my framerates from 25-30 to under 20.

    Early thanks to all...

  6. X-Pilot.com is committed to a non-censorship type community where everyone is entitled to their own opinion without being worried that a moderator or administrator will knock them down. As much as opinions may hurt some, they often times end up making a product stronger!

This is something I've been unable to find so far in a X-Plane community, and I thank you for working this idea.

It's rare that I add a new forum to my list of favorites, but I am getting the feeling that this may be one... :P

    Thank you all!
