Thanks.

The aircraft used to be activated because I used to fly it often. But, maybe it has become de activated since I haven't used it in a long time. Sorry for the silly question, but how to check whether it is activated, and how to re activate it? Thanks.

I just updated the X-Aviation C400 TT to version 1.5.2. Prior to installing this update, I have not used X plane in a long time .... roughly 2 years I think. My problem now is I cannot rotate the fuel selector knob - the knob won't budge. Any ideas? Thanks....

Just curious how to know the landing/approach speed with full flaps on final approach? Is Vr (V rotate) the speed to maintain on final approach? If so, the CRJ pilot handbook only lists Vr for 8 deg and 20 deg of flaps, nothing for full flaps. Thanks...

I bought the Saitek X52 and within a week of receiving the system, the joystick died. If I remember, I got it through amazon and they had a warranty, so I sent the system back and they sent me back a free replacement system. However, within a year (of EXTREMELY light use, only using it maybe once a week), that system also went bad. Often the joystick axes will go crazy and start sending erratic input signals to the computer. Also, the key I have mapped to the flaps gets a mind of its own and deploys the flaps in mid flight whenever it pleases. Just curious if anyone else had a bad experience with the Saitek X52? Thanks...

Thanks Phillip. I can't believe I forgot to switch both knobs to NAV.

I have a problem initializing the position of my CRJ 1.4.5. Everything is working until the point that I copy the departure airport coordinates into the scratch pad. Next, I click the FMS right select key 5 to set position, but nothing happens. I tried reinstalling, it still didnt fix the problem. Any ideas what might cause such an error? Thanks...

Maybe this is a stupid question, but when performing an ILS approach with the autopilot on APPR mode, I believe the AP is controlling the pitch of the aircraft using the trim (i can see the trim continuously adjusting by the autopilot). When I am about 1-200 feet above the runway, I disengage the AP, but then the trim is not set to allow me to glide to the runway with the yoke centered - the AP set the trim pitch down, which means when i cut the throttle to slow down I had to pull the yokes all the way back to stay in the air and also I stalled when I was well above the stall speed of the aircraft for the flap setting. My only theory is that on final approach, i must reduce the throttle to slow the aircraft to about 10 knots above the stall speed so that the AP won't set the pitch so far down, is that correct? Thanks!

Interestingly enough, you can see the body of his MU2 clearly even in the night flying screenshot, unlike on my machine, where night flying = pitch black can't see your hand in front of your face black. I have the brightness on my monitor turned up all the way. Still my aircraft are just faint sillouettes in a dark murky black environment whenever I fly at night.

Take Command! CRJ-200 Version 1.4.3 Update Released!
rddaos replied to Cameron's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
I think the CRJ200 should continue to be updated from time to time, as opposed to scrapping any further development. I personally would be willing to purchase future major updates of the CRJ200. -
Thanks Kieran, So it looks like only two softwares are really needed - a 3D modeler, and x plane itself?
-
Guys just a question. Which software programs are utilized to create quality 3rd party aircraft for x plane? I assume a 3d modeling program to create the airframe and interior. But to program manipulators and flight characteristics, sounds, etc., I assume all that is done in x plane? Thanks...

I am having trouble figuring out how to have enough light at night to make things look realistic. Using gamma = 2.5 makes night time so dark that it's literally pitch black - I cannot even see the battery master switch so I can turn it on to get enough light to start the plane up from cold and dark. With gamma = 2.5, things seem absurdly dark, so dark in fact, it's hard to tell where the land stops and the sky begins (ignoring the runway lights). Gamma = 4.0 is better, I can at least see a faint blue moonlight effect, yet it's still darker than true night conditions. And gamma = 2.5 just doesnt work for daytime conditions (gamma = 4.0 is waaaayyy to washed out and bright!!) See the attached screenshots with gamma = 2.5. Any ideas? Thanks...

Thanks Phillip, The only thing I was missing was a tutorial that actually showed me how to change the airport. I had to find out through trial and error that I had to first use EXEC. I guess that while the tutorial is my friend, sometimes the forums are more friendly than the tutorial.
-
Japo, I think I figured out the problem. It looks like you cannot change the airports until AFTER you make the flight plan active by pressing "EXEC". Does this make sense, or maybe my installation has a bug? Thanks...

I have 2 problems right now with the FMS: 1. I can't figure out how to change the origin or destination airport after I have added them. I have tried going to the FPLN and LEGS pages and retyping the ICAO name in scratch pad then clicking 1LK. Sometimes it says "INVALID ENTRY", sometimes nothing happens at all. It seems very tempermental based on the order I move through the pages and add information. In other words, the first time I try to change the airport from the FLPN page it says INVALID ENTRY, then go to LEGS page and try (nothing happens this time) then go back and try again on FPLN page (instead of INVALID ENTRY, this time nothing happens when I click 1LK). 2. When programming the flight plan, I first go to FPLN screen, then type "KMIA" in scratch pad then click 1LK to set it as the origin airport. Then, I go to DEP/ARR page and select <DEP, then choose Runway 12 & "EONNS1.12" to select my SID. Next, I want to add my route, I go back to FPLN screen (pg. 2) and type A509 airway then click 1LK to add to VIA - this immediately crashes X Plane. Also notice, in the VIA field, there was no "---", just blank space. Again, I have noticed this has something to do with the order I move through the FMS pages and add information, if for example I first add BOTH the origin AND destination airports BEFORE adding the SID then this bug doesn't seem to happen. Any ideas? Thanks....

Okay, in that case, what is recommended for setting pitch trim for takeoff and landing, since we cannot set it the official way? Do we simply make a test flight with specific amount of fuel and payload and center of gravity to determine the right amount of pitch for that specific weight and cg, and then re-that weight, cg, and pitch settings for future flights? Thanks!
-
Page 27 of the CRJ-200 tutorial discusses the procedure for setting pitch trim for takeoff. However, the procedure requires that we know the passenger seating assignments. But I do not know of any way to set passenger seating assignments in the CRJ-200. I only know how to set the center of gravity slider under Aircraft ---> Weight and Fuel. Can anyone help? Thanks...

Thanks guys. It seems like many of you are not bothering with HDRI. I frankly am not impressed with the graphics I get out of xplane 10. I have other games that have beautiful graphics, for example Wings of Prey, DCS A10C. My machine runs these games no problem. I can only theorize that x plane the flight model physics consumes so much computing power that not much is left over for graphics. I'm going to try dispensing with HDRI and see how I like it.

I'd love if some of you guys out there would post screenshots of the render settings you use, maybe even include your system specs. I have tried to optimize my render settings, but I am not sure if the settings that I have come up with are reasonable given my hardware specs. I have what I think is a decent gaming machine, yet when I run the simulator, the graphics don't look too great (to put it mildly), even though I've cranked up the render settings high enough to drop my fps to about 25-30. Maybe I'm getting reasonable performance relative to my hardware and should not be complaining, maybe my render settings could be optimized further, I don't know. My hardware specs. are as follow: Windows 7 Intel Core i7 CPU 960 @ 3.2 GHz Memory: 6.00 GB RAM 64 bit operating system Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 (1280 MB GDDR5) Attached is a screenshot of my render settings. Any comments would be appreciated.

Yes, this always happens now - but it wasn't a problem back when I first got the new update. Perhaps one of my files got corrupted. I think I'll do a fresh install. That should fix the problem. Thanks...
-
Guys what am I missing - I can't seem to turn off the active flight plan screen just to the right of the EFIS map (see attached screenshot). I've pressed the "FPL" button but that doesnt fix the issue. Also, as you can see, there are two compass roses with two aircraft icons on the display. I don't recall this problem with the previous version of the corvalis, so maybe my files are corrupted. Secondly, would it be possible, in a future update, to make the font on the buttons and screen a bit sharper/crisper? This plane would be all I would fly if the font were not as blurry.
-
I don't know if this information will be helpful for anyone else, but I'll post it just in case. When I installed the version 1.3 Corvalis, I had issues trying to load the aircraft. I've finally gotten to the bottom of things. Initially, I tried to load the aircraft via the following path: Aircraft --> General Aviation --> Cessna Corvalis TT 1.3 --> dist --> C400 --> C400 --> Cessna Corvalis TT --> C400.acf Selecting this .acf file crashes x plane. However, if I instead go: Aircraft --> X-Aviation --> Cessna Corvalis TT ---> C400.acf That .acf file loads fine. I'm pretty sure I followed the install instructions carefully.
-
I just installed the Corvalis version 1.3, but when I tried to load the aircraft in x-plane, I got the following error message: "Invalid read_n_rev read! (xmap.cpp line 76)" Closing out this message box then causes x-plane to shut down. I've attached a screenshot. Any ideas? Thanks...

Am I correct that x-plane has a bug which makes it impossible to save your flight and quit xplane without losing your flight plan (you have to reload the flight plan when you resume the simulation), and that x plan 10 will most likely fix this problem? It would be really nice if you could save the situation, log out of the computer, shut the computer down, restart computer and x plane, load situation, and your flight plan would be just as you left it in the flight computer? Thanks...
