  1. Right then, took ages for me to actually get around to it, but I can confirm that the file name seems to be the issue, if you can really call it an issue. Changes engine specs in Plane Maker and then saving over the original file worked a treat, whereas saving as a new filename didn't work at all. Whilst we're waiting for the new version, I've found that doing the following small steps made the flight characteristics much closer to the one I fly, if anyone wants to do the same: Weight -> Empty weight 1220 lbs Engine Specs -> Max Throttle 0.8 ; Idle Lo and Hi Adjust 0.75 ; Engine Redline 2,550 rpm ; Max Horsepower 108 bhp I found that this adds a bit more weight, brings the engine more in line with the O Lycoming rather that the L, and brings the engine within more normal limits (~500-700 rpm idle and ~2,550 rpm full throttle). Soooooo......when can we expect the all new, singing and dancing official update Airbus? And any chance they'll have working circuit breakers??? :-*
  2. The problem I had was by simply loading the aircraft into Plane Maker and changing some of the engine details, the newly saved version had no 2d or 3d panels in X Plane. That's why I assumed you couldn't use that for editing. I'll give it another go soon. Unless it was the fact that I saved it as a different file name? Would that mess up the panels?
  3. So can we open the 1.1 version in Plane Maker? Every time I've tried, the 2D and 3D panels go all weird. I just assumed that was a copy protection thing.
  4. Thanks matey, and my pleasure. Really looking forward to seeing the new and improved version. ;D
  5. OK, here's another question or two about the update.... I've been having a play with the 1.1 version, and I'm very surprised by the speed needed for rotation. Considering rotation is generally at around 55 KIAS, I've been able to get the nose well clear off of the ground at around 15 KIAS. I've also found that ground roll on landing is very, very long, with the nose staying off the ground and the aircraft not really slowing down unless you apply brakes (though this may well be the high idling speed of the engine?). Lastly, and yes I know this is a very minor point, but the nose wheel steering should only deflect the nose wheel by 10 degrees, and differential brakes should be the only means of being able to turn the nose wheel up to 30 degrees either side of centre. I'm mentioning these as they are not-quite-so obvious issues in an otherwise lovely aircraft, and I'm hoping it will help with your next release.
  6. It's looking good, really can't wait to have a go. ;D
  7. Fantastic.
  8. Fantastic! ;D At the risk of sounding greedy, and idea as to roughly when we can expect the update?
  9. Oh, meant to say last time. Hopefully this issue will also be fixed in the next update? I've noticed that the idle revs are way too high (should be around 500-700 rpm at idle). I've been noticing idle speeds of nearly 1000 rpm, which (a) makes the aeroplane lurch off and weathercock as soon as the brakes are off, and ( really makes the whole thing difficult to land, as you don't actually lose speed during the float. Like I said hopefully that will also be fixed, but just wanted to air it.
  10. No I didn't. I made sure that I saved my modified version as a new filename, and as such I found that it only loses the panels if I try to fly my version - the original works fine in X Plane (though incidentally if I try to view the 2d/3d panels in Plane Maker they are empty slots rather than complete). Should I try re-installing the package? Cool to hear you're already working on a new update that addresses the power - like most people here, can't wait to try it.
  11. Err...the link seems to be broken. Is it down?
  12. So I take it you still get to see all the 2d and 3d panels when you load the plane into Plane Builder?
  13. Hi guys, Just wanted to say that I've just started to get to grips with XPlane, having moved over from FSX and thoroughly loving it, especially the C152. I got this aircraft as I'm learning to fly in a C152 myself - should be ready for my first solo any day now. And the big issue for me is definitely the power. The POH clearly states that for both types of engine (the C152 had two variants of Lycoming engine, pre/post 1983) the redline was 2550 rpm, and certainly in the climb you'd actually be luck to reach that. (Interestingly enough, pre-1983 the engine was 110 hp, but this was reduced to 108 hp after 1983, along with modifications to reduce plug-fouling). This would give you a cruise at around 90-100 KIAS. Just my tuppence worth. Lovely design guys, keep up the good work. BTW - I tried loading it into Plane Maker to make the engine changes myself and saved it as a new filename, but it completely lost the 2D and 3D panels!
