  1. Thanks Carlos!
  2. Dance around her a few times. That should work. If you don't, it might look like this
  3. Thanks bc. I will try to make sure that technology is at the same level as the art. They have to coexist in harmony. That is very important for me. However, a good amount of modelling and coding tech still ahead.
  4. Jim has some nice Beaver videos. His walkaroud video is cool too. Beside that, he has like 5000+ hours in the Beaver if I am not mistaken. Makes me a bit jealous R-985 sound is just awesome.
  5. Have a first look here and search for Material.
  6. Good catch on the white prop stripes. Actually, the white stripes are even bigger than the grey one in between. ...and to answer another question with respect to pilots: Yes, it will have a pilot. Not pilots, because this Beaver is flown without a co-pilot and without dual controls. Also, this pilot will only be visible in external view.
  7. Oh yes, I was imagining flying that little darling along the coast and valleys of BC and Alaska. Sorry for that! Well, it is weekend and I thought you might wanna see the neutral colour base exterior with normal and spec maps added to it. Livery painting starts soon, and this is the neural colour base you will get, in order for you to create your favorite paintjob. Hope you enjoy!
  8. Nope, this is no in-sim shot. This is still some time ahead, but shouldn't be too far away. What you see is an artistic render. For me, add-on development is a combination of beautiful art work and technology, which will allow to give an aircraft its soul and personality.
  9. Hey there you Beaver lovers .... wanna see the rivet pattern on the wheeled version? Well, here you can have a first look. Hope you enjoy!
  10. More progress on the Beaver. uv unwrapping of the cockpit and interior is also finished, and now the unwrapped parts will be split up into different texture maps. This will be a tradeoff between clarity and readability of the textures and the texture size and count itself, as this could have a huge impact on performance, if you go crazy with it and dont do it well. As the goal is to have the Beaver running fine on slower machines as well, this has to be treated carefully and efficiently, because not only the high-end users should be satisfied.
  11. Carlos, you must be talking about Arnaud and Khamsin here. I am still a greenhorn, learning every day. I might have solo'ed, but still have to work hard to earn my wings.
  12. I hear you, and have kind of the same attitude with respect to poly count and textures. Producing "low" poly aircraft that still look great is an art itself and being efficient with textures as well. It's not easy and needs a good amount of experience. I admire people who are able to do it and Khamsin for sure knows his stuff. I am happy with the approximately 90K count for the Beaver so far and X-Plane should be able to handle that easily. However, textures should stay at a reasonable number and size as well in the end and I have to make sure that it does. I also hope that I can get rid of the panel.png and cockpit_3d folder for the vintage Beaver, as it doesn't need any digital displays. That should free up some VRAM as well. Anyway, keep up the great work and I am looking forward to the Chippy, while still enjoying the T-28
  13. This looks extremely nice Arnaud. You and your team are doing a fantastic job! Now, I am interested in how many faces this lovely lady has?
  14. Woohoo, I just made the COM/NAV frequencies to show properly at high resolution in my test/dummy cockpit by using generic instruments, instead of the low resolution standard instrument overlay. Pretty cool, and easier than I thought. OK, nothing special for you really, but please allow me to be excited about the little things, because this is my first add-on after all and I love to share my excitement
  15. Did you just invent that new language?
  16. Thanks for all your input, telling me what you need for your cockpits. I will keep all that in mind during development and fully understand that you like to continue to use your equipment. I won't promise anything, but you can be assured that I don't ignore what you said.
  17. Wow, you guys have sophisticated cockpits. Guess I need to upgrade at some point as well. So far its the Saitek AV8R Stick with the Saitek Throttle Quadrant. If you guys let me know what you require to run your equipment with respect to datarefs, I will try my best to make sure that you can continue to use it. How do you actually hook up your equipment to specific datarefs. Only via Sandy's plugin or also via XP settings?
  18. Sounds strange. Have you looked under user preferences. Maybe you assigned a different key-mouse combination, by accident. Does google tell you something?
  19. Looks nice Simon. Glad you made it. That scale problem caught me as well, and I learned some weeks ago that I can use Ctrl+A, to reset the scale for multiple objects, while not in edit mode. Having a scale other than 1.0 can throw you off big time.
  20. The float version is around 98k. The regular tire around 93k and the tundra/cargo version will be around 90k, because two seats will be removed etc.
  21. I will use a good amount of custom datarefs, because I will create my own systems simulations and don't use XP internal ones. Only if they give me all the functionality and flexibility I need. Engine and flight control datarefs will stay the same, but switches and cockpit indications could very well be non-standard. Avionic datarefs for COM, NAV, ADF and Transponder frequencies will be standard too. Like I said before, just let me know what you require for your home cockpits and switches and I will try my best that you "guys" are not forgotten. This is a good time to let me know.
  22. OK, here is your future office in the modernized Beaver. Just a few placard plates missing, but about 99% done and uv unwrapping of the interior will start soon. The exterior of the amphibian Beaver is already unwrapped. Thought you might wanna see ...and here a shot without the flight yoke, which you will be able to hide, to have better access to switches or instruments if you don't use TrackIR. Hope you enjoy!
