  1. Things are marginally improved but along the way I have inherited a Blue/Grey 3cm line running from side to side. Within this line there are many Tiny Red lines which appear as a boarder to the Glare Shield and round the Aircraft in an external view. What I have activated whilst trying to set the frame rate up I have no idea. I just know it was not there before I started fiddling. The frame rate is hovering between 8 and 14.5 now depending on the view. Not good but better than 4. Mick. It was the HD Rendering. I turned it off and hay presto the lines were gone and the frame rate, with the cabin in 3D mode, has jumped to 22,5+ or-.1 or2
  2. I have wound a few more things down and am now at 15+ Fps. However it looks like I will never get it right without changing my PC. No can do I am afraid. Already with the marginal improvement I am loosing aircraft definition and poor scenery. The price you pay for progress. Thanks anyhow guys for trying. Mick.
  3. Thanks Jim As it is the rendering options are almost all turned off. When I activated the "Set all options for maximum speed" I lost most of the scenery and the glare shield on the 787 became unreadable. I will however give it another go. What graphics card I need is now the question. Mick
  4. Rendering options. The files contain the info you require to help me. I hope you can see them. If not I will have to try again.
  5. OK Now I need to be clear. 1 The rendering settings are where ? 2 The complete system spec is where? And can both be copied and pasted or is the screen shot exactly what it implies. Shift/space in the game/sim.? Sorry to sound such a numpty but I am bordering on my limits when it comes to accessing the internal workings of the computer. X Plane Australia summed it up but Kieran sounds as though he may solve it. Mick. Delving into the unknown at the age of 74. lol. I have found the Rendering Options screen , How do I take a screen shot of it? and where will it be when I have done it so I can retrieve it and post it here?
  6. Thanks guys As you can see two posts up I have found them. I now need to know how to interpret them and what to do to change them for the better. Mick.
  7. Sorry I don't know where to look for them. It will be somewhere obvious but Where? Mick Found it Here is all the display. Currently the aircraft is sat on the end of a runway at valencia.FMC loaded. f-act F-Sim Frame Cpu Grnd Flit 4.615 19.90 0.216 0.414 1.000 1.000 Sec Sec Time Load ratio ratio The airport sim is a good one plenty of detail.
  8. Here is what I can gleen. Firstly the sim is running on an i5 PC .I opened the rendering options panel and here is what is activated " Ticked ".[ Compress textures to save VRAM ], [Texture Res: High]. [ Frame rate lock was set to Lock. I have now unlocked it but not flown anything since]. [Gamma is 2.2.] Stuff to draw [ View indicator ] [ Runways follow contours ] Special Effects [ 3D Bump maps ] [ Gritty detail textures ] [Draw per pixel lighting ] Cloud detail 45%. In the Opps and warnings panel I have Flight Model at 0.2 It was at 0.1 but I has all the flight surfaces ossilating during flight and the night sky also, plus the First officer in the 787 cabin was shaking his head all the time. Once I set to 0.2 all this stopped. All the above settings are " factory set " that is I have nwvwr touched them apart from the Flight Model.
  9. OK I am slowly getting there. It will never be perfect because I can not afford all the add ons to make it perfect. So I will buy a few well moddled airports in Europe and fly between them. However that aside I now need to solve the"Time in the air" issue. Flights taking 3 hours + ( Say Glasgow to Valencia ) are taking 9 hours. The actual time clock in the 787 reads correct every time I switch on but the Time Elapsed readout runs a delay of 3 seconds for every 1 passed. This mutiplied up accounts for the massive time spent on " short " flights. Somewhere in the system I will be able to rectify this but I can not find where. Any ideas??? MIck in anticipation. While I wait I have just observed the clock again. I find that for every 1 minute actual time passed the sim has only moved forwards 12 Seconds. This is worse than I thought as it is a 5 to 1 negative ratio . So flights are taking 5 times longer than they should.
  10. Thanks Andy. I will look this up on the X Plane Map . As yet I am always flying silent as I have not figured out how to contact the local tower or ground. I will run a flight from Leeds Bradford ( my local airport ) into Edinburgh and see how it goes. Mick.
  11. Hi folks I am getting to grips with the KC-10 using a flight into EGPH which I have made up from waypoints ,NDB's etc. However I ,via the Map facility, have been flying the last 10 Nm into the two runways. The aircraft is set up at 2800 Ft, right on course for the runway. 063 or 243. The Glide slope is activated at 8 Nm,s but when I looked at the Pilots infomation for EGPH ILS approach it stated the approach hight should be 4000 ft. If this is correct and is moddled in the X-Plane Sim then how far out from the airport does the localizer cone reach to. Once I know this then I can tweak my FMC plan to bring me into the last Waypoint, NDB,VOR whatever would be the final track.to intercept the localizer. By the way the scenery into Edinburgh is amazing especially using real weather situation. Mick. Definitely getting there. Imported this pic with KC-10 at 500 Ft + or- but it has not loaded as I expected.
  12. Log Text.txtX-Plane Installer Log.txtThanks for that, Sorry been offline for a day or so. However the programme is running OK at the moment due to the fact I am in " Bare Bones " / " Basic installation mode. I have installed the upgrades which it lists every time I open the programme and they have not had any adverse effect. I am however flying into " Buildingless airports and using the default aircraft. Can you point me in the direction of " Safe " add ons. ie, ones that will not corrupt the programme alonf the way. I notice that most of the Add ON scenery requires a number of other installations for them to work. " opensceneryX, ruscenery,Fflod etc, etc. " . How safe are these? Also there are a number of Freeware and Payware aircraft and airports available. I downloaded some of these into my original installation and more than probably one or more of these corrupted the programme. Prior to uninstalling the programme I had a massive number of fault notifications every time I attempted to use the programme. As I said earlier this game' relies on external modifications to be made for any semblence of reality,in flight and on the ground , can be achieved. A happier Mick .
  13. Sorry I have a Copy of the Log sat on the desktop but I do not know how to get it to you. The file is massive. If I open it in this window it crashes the programme. I have overnight reinstalled X-Plane and in its " Bare Bones " state it is working without seeking missing files. I also have resisted downloading the Upgrades which it says are available every time I open up. It still will not save the most basic of flights. The configuration of the FMC is usually corrupted. I am flying the KC-10. No Sids or Stars available in its FMC. It hung onto the Glareshield settings but added 3500 Nm's to the distance. I was flying Edinburgh to London and was over Carlisle when I saved. While in Map Mode I reloaded the flight again and this brought some normality back to the FMC but not totally. Getting there slowly. Mick
  14. I have once again removed the programme from the PC. It is now crashing every time I try to introduce a Flight Plan. Firstly it will not store the plan then once I click on the blank Flight plan graphic it pops up with 6 or 7 " Files missing " pop ups.Once I have scrolled through them it crashes.I have attempted and succeeded in downloaded various custom scenery files. All of which the programme depends upon if you are to fly into airports with buildings etc. In fact X-Plane would fail without them. You have only to look at the YouTube videos and latest tutorials using expensive add on aircraft to see what I mean.. All the add on material I have stashed away on an external pod in case I get the programme to work again. Many of the airports will not work/show unless you have downloaded " opensceneryX, ruscenery,Fflod etc, etc. Thie presence of these downloads has no bearing on my problems as I have only the bare bones installed. I am going to attempt to contact Graphsim again as they wrote the programme. If I get no joy from them then I will go to the top of X-Plane .com They will get some very adverse publicity if they do not help. Before anybody asks, what am I attempting to run the programme on. Windows 7 Intel Core i5 Intel HD Graphics, 8 GB Memory, 1 TB hard drive with 1TB external HD available. It is not the computer. Mick
  15. As an addon, it now will not attempt to save anything saying there are a mass of files missing. I have no idea what is wrong with this programme. Especially when it says the problem is possibly because the files were downloaded from a CD in the first place. Well how else would I have introduced them if I have bought the programme via a boxed 2 CD set.? It gets dafter and dafter.
  16. Well the problems with X-Plane are endless and not to be solved by returning to FSX. Windows 7/8 are not compatible with FSX. There is a way to make it compatible but it is too tec for me. So persist with X-Plane, after setting the CRJ-200 up on a IFR flight to EGPH from EGCC I taxi to RW 05L as per flight plan and Sid , arriving at the Hold position I check the instruments and the FMC. WHAT !!! I am suddenly about to fly 358 miles to EGLL from EGNM on the EGCC -EGPH route apart from the fact that the FMC wants me on RW32 ( Which is LBIA EGNM.. So now I wipe the computer of all traces ( so I think ) of X-Plane 10. Add on scenery, add on aircraft all removed into a separate folder and the programme wiped. It's start again time inspite of the late hour. I start the INSTALL' again to find it says I already have X-Plane installed and do I want a second copy? I have to say yes inspite of knowing I have removed everything. I Install again. However later when I run the programme the setup stops to let me know that certain files may or may not install correctly and do I " understand " . Once I click " Understand" it carries on. So over the course of the installation I have upwards of 6 files or more which have not installed correctly. Which these are and how they impact on the programme I do not know as I did not write the info down. Unfortunately the problem can not be solved by X-Plane Randy Pitt because I have the Europe Edition. This is produced by GRAPHSIM and they do not reply to Emails. So I am between a rock and a hard place. I am within a spit of binning the whole lot and cutting my losses. I will try again to get back to a " Clean " setup but I am aware I will be flying into buildingless airfields set in amorphus flat green and brown land. This I refuse to do as it is not a flying experience to fly from A to B over cities etc to land on featureless airports. Mick
  17. Thanks I will give it a go. Let you know how I get on.. I seem to be trying to work my way through a series of problems at the moment. Aircraft sat on ramps with no wheels but if you move to another ramp they re-appear. CRJ Salamanca again. Got through to takeoff in the CRJ tutorial, took of and activated the Autopilot but would it lock onto the FMC flight route NO!, it just floundered about in the sky intermittently loosing altitude or power. Everything was setup to the letter but no joy. I thought the " In House aircraft " were difficult but the CRJ 200 is a brute. Tried a flight out of LBIA "EGNM" to Heathrow last night. FMC did not recognise any of the waypoints I keyed in using reputable route planners. The plan it did accept wandered all round the north of England before heading to Pole Hill which is only 4 nm from the airport. Once again AP would not function correctly and I had to manually control throttles then the altitude glitch set in and the aircraft was pitching and diving all over the place. Climbing way past the preset altitude then pitching way below. It took me over an hour to navigate to Sheffield at which point the plane was flying due East to some nebulus waypoint.I packed it in there. I think I may need to start again but as I have said in one of my first posts on this site I have flown FSX for 10 years or more on and off.The problems I have with X Plane and its add ons did not exist in FSX where I flew PMDG aitcraft. Go back to FSX I hear you say. No can do, as my new computer is Windows 7 and all my FSX stuff does not work on it. I have a challenge ahead. Mick.
  18. Sorry folks I seem to be rubbishing X-Plane all the time. The other problems I have been able to buy myself out of. ie.. FMC will not work in basic aircraft so buy the CRJ 200 and alls well. The problem I have now I can not buy my way out of. " Save Situation" Yesterday evening I worked my way through the CRJ 200 Tutorial as far as page 20 of a 55 page Tutorial. It was late so I saved the situation and returned to the flight today. Loaded up the " Saved" file to find it had saved only where the aircraft was parked in Salamanca. Nothing else was saved. The CRJ was back to " Cold and Dark". This means that if I want to complete the tutorial I have to do it in one go. Or leave the computer on overnight on Pause. This is to my mind stupid. As it is a Programme glitch I can not see a way round it. There must be someone out there who has run up against this problem. Any answers folks? Mick
  19. Going from bad to worse. I have just bought the CRJ200. and it is cold and dark on a gate at EGNM. So I open the Tutorial and proceed. Turn on the Battery switch. Easy......no not so easy ....I does not work. £30+ spent on something that does not work. What Now? Note almost all of the switches do not respond other than clicking. Nothing happens. The plane is grounded. Mick.............Glum As you were folks. In my haste to install I missed the drop down facility which I needed to install into X-Plane 10. I installed X P 9 version instead and ....It doesn't work in 10. Mick ..... embarassed but not Glum...
  20. Thanks guys. You are right of course. I have a boatload of FSX add on aircraft which are now rotting' in a box. Not to mention the PMDG aircraft I downloaded. All at a cost. Currently I am retrying the Schipol-Manchester flight but I am having to fly the course waypoints manually. The LNav will not activate.I doubt I will land it. Regarding FMC capability I will look at the aircraft suggested.Namely the CRJ200, 777 and 757.. Thanks again particularly as I posted in the wrong place. Mick.
  21. Hi folks, I am new to X-Plane ( less than a week ) however I flew FSX for a number of years before my new computer, Windows 7, stopped it functioning correctly. So I have bought X-Plane Europe Edition. I will not go into the complete lack of modled Airports or the lack of Tutorials . My immediate problem is with the FMC's. The MD 11 I have given up on and am trying to get the FMC in the B747-400 United to work. I have found a site XP Flight Planner where basic plans can be set up and transferred to the FMC's in X- Plane. However that is as far as it goes. There appears to be no access to Sids and Stars and the flightpath track is missing from the primary displays. The waypoints are present but there is no indication as to whether you are flying towards them. This is frustrating as I am well used to setting up FMC's and flying to the destination with them. Could it be that the stock aircraft in the programme are a tadge " Micky Mouse"? Do I need to dip into my pocket and buy the quality of aircraft used to demonstrate X-Plane on YouTube etc. before I am able to fly as I used too with FSX? My latest attempt was with the 747-400 United out of Schipol to Manchester. By the time I was at the second waypoint at 32K Ft. I was over the coast of the UK, Norfolk area.. I know there were at least 7 waypoints left and very few miles of the flight left. This leads me to think the waypoints were wrong or I was flying direct " Due West " and had missed all the waypoints because the Auto Pilot was not locked on to the FMC route. I unfortunately lost the flight when I changed the weather and hit the wrong Key on the setup page. As you can see I need help from someone who knows the Sim Mick.
