Chuck !!!! That is YOU, I remember now. Well, thank you for the compliment, I did not take your response as a criticism anyway. As far as criticism, it is always welcome because we learn by hearing from others what we do wrong, I am always open to it and never get mad unless there is a personal "stab" present, you know exactly what I mean. Are you a member of the VPA https://www.virtualpilots.org/ ? I started a thread there about LES Saab 340A where I am experimenting, talking to the real life F/O on SAAB ( version B but it is close enough) and having lots of fun. LES SAAB is so well developed that it is a pleasure to learn things and find out that what you learned is actually modeled. I will ask few things here in the future because I am determined to learn LES Saab 340A inside out. Good to "see" you Chuck. Cheers, AJ

Good luck, Andy. Looking forward to see how it went. Cheers, AJ

Hi Jim, Fair enough, I understand now. I just checked , generator failure ( by turning them off manually) results in many failures. Very interesting to experiment, I am having lots of fun, thank you for a quick response. Cheers, AJ

Hi Andy, I only made few test flights but I can confirm, X-FMC works with LES Saab 340A. I did not try to use or even test the functions that are reserved for heavy iron. I only tested if I can program the route and have X-FMC control autopilot inputs. It does work, you might just assign a key or joystick button to function autopilot/hsi_select_gps and autopilot/hsi_select_nav1 to go back to default NAV. Have fun and let us know how it worked for you. Cheers, AJ

Hi LES Team, I was wondering, if there is any way to simulate failures in SAAB. When I set the X-Plane failures, they blink as they were present but nothing happens. I understand that it is because SAAB is "driven" by Gizmo, correct? For example, I wanted to see what happens when both generators fail and I guess that the only way to do it is just to turn them off, correct? Cheers, AJ

You are welcome John, your response for SMP user inputs were immediate and that also counts a lot. Great job, Cheers, AJ

He, he, yes, I am over excited when it comes to flying. My comments are always honest, I had a very bad ones in the past but it partially my fault. When the credit is due, it is nice to show the appreciation and if I was a developer I would sure like that. Photo in the cockpit, thanks, well, I like to add a personal touch to the plane, makes me feel like I was really flying it, same with the reg numbers, N242BM I use on VATSIM so I put it there. As far as the checklists, the one I made just for myself is Take Off procedure and follow it step by step. Excellent plane, can not wait till I can take video from the outside view, now FPS just drops to single digit. Cheers, AJ

Good to hear that , Tsetsoh. Quick question, very close means it is a bit different, what exactly is the difference? Just curious. We know that there are many possible acceptable variants but I am trying to fly LES Saab 340A as close to real life as possible. Cheers, AJ

Standing by, Ben. Very excited. Cheers, AJ

Should I buy Saab Today or wait for next Update?

I was told by the F/O on Saab 340B to do it this way. At 1000 AGL CTOT switches off, PL reduce to 80% or 820 ITT, condition levers to 1230, prop sync on, bleed valves reset/auto, taxi light off, verify climb power on the chart. From there climb 160. I was practicing it quite a few times and it worked pretty well for me. Cheers, AJ

Well, that IS my hope because after I reinstalled everything from scratch, I was getting around 20-27 FPS without SMP running but I did not notice memory leak on longer flights. NOW, I always fly SAAB with SMP so my hope is that I will be very happy after SAAB and Gizmo64 plugins get update. Just a gut feeling guys. Thank you for the responses. Cheers, AJ -

Oops, now I am a bit nervous BUT, I am almost sure that the update will take care of that also, cameron. We will see, if not, I will just fly short flights. Cheers, AJ -

Jim, I was was not trying to be negative, just objective. I am totally sure that the update will fix majority of not just my problems which we all know there are, Ben just admitted finding a big for memory leak. I replied in not negative tone, maybe rather to make the potential user to be aware of what MIGHT come up. I do not exaggerate saying that so far Saab 340A is my favorite plane in that class. You and the whole Team did really outstanding job. A bit off subject maybe but many guys were complaining that LES SF34 does not have GPS/FMS. It is NOT a problem at all, I have found 2 plug-ins AFASS and X-FMC and both make LES SF34 as it was equipped with FMS. Thank you again, that update will be awesome, I know. Cheers, AJ -

I have been enjoying SAAB for about three weeks now. After several minutes , I am not able to see it from the outside ( single digit FPS) BUT I know that the update is coming some day and on the top of that Ben found a bug for the memory leak that I was also experiencing and I am experiencing. To make the story short, I love the airplane, I am able to fly it on flights around an hour or so. Clapping hands for LES Developers and waiting for the update. As answering the question, if you want to learn, buy it but remember you might get mad when things slow down. Cheers, AJ -
Fantastic news, Ben. Good luck with the fix. Cheers, AJ

Happy to hear SAAB works fine as it should, hope it stays this way. Happy flying. Cheers, AJ

AND make sure that handle is in down position, I know it is obvious but you know ....
-
I am so sorry to hear that, I know the feeling , this is such a great plane. I can only hope that Developers will help you. Cheers, AJ

Before you do the startup procedure, do you have Power Lever in proper position? I do not think it is a bug, many users would report it.
-
I do not know if that would help the case but seems like you have Inverter OFF. Cheers, AJ P.S. Also make sure you have generators reset.

Hi Canox, I could not agree with you more. It would be hard now to switch back to default XP clouds after what SkyMaxx Pro is giving us. See attached, it is .jpeg screenshot ( for the posting size of the file , instead of png full screen). I was testing if I can use X-FMC with Saab and yes, it works just fine. I was flying to Jackson Hole , WY KJAC and what I saw on the approach was just like in real life . The attached picture was before that, later on I wish I was able to make a video but I was busy with approach, did not want to take chances. Many thanks for SkyMaxx Developers, I have said it many times and I say it again, if something is good, it is never too much of giving credit for it. As far as sky color, I think the most times I use True Blue High Contrast but others are also great. SAAB is a fantastic plane, for the last few weeks I was flying it almost exclusively and I absolutely love it. The only thing is that if the flight is longer I am not able to shoot video using outside view ( cockpit is still fine) because frame rate drops to single digits. If the flight is much longer , over 2 hrs, I can not continue at all for the same reason. I have read and heard many times and I am sure that will be fixed in upcoming SAAB update, we just need to be patient and I am. Other than that LES Saab 340A is an outstanding piece of programming and modeling, when the update comes up, I will be one happy user. I was so excited about the realism of the SAAB that I opened a thread in the VA forums talking with real pilot of SAAB ( he is a F/O on version about how close the simulation is and he confirmed that the plane acts just like the real deal. Take a look at my take off video. You will like when you watch it on youtube, full screen and HD mode. Thank you again the whole Leading Edge Simulations Team for this great aircraft. Cheers, AJ

Hey Cameron, is that you? You did not change much since the last time I saw you, You guys are cracking me up, I did not know you have a sense of humor, Cameron. Like it here much more than at the beginning. Cheers, AJ

Hi Jim, Thank you very much. Added few steps to my Normal Procedure. Cheers, AJ

Jim, I have the printed Checklist in front of me. I was looking very hard but I can not find anything about turning MAIN INV on. I am not sure but maybe it was already reported here, there is also nothing about it in electronic checklist. I am sorry if it was already discussed but I was learning SAAB recently a lot and it just caught my attention so I thought I ask here. Cheers, AJ
