Well, always keep in mind that the performance achieved is highly machine dependend. I'm lucky and was able to change my config just in time, regarding on what's up to W2XP :-) :-) - I use 'local storage' option on a RAMDRIVE, - I allocate 20Gb RAM to the app Now if it would be: - local storage on SSD - allocate only 4Gb... the result would have end another way (from the time duration of rendering only). Main issue for low RAM config, will be multithreading I guess. On 6 core-runs I had 12GbRAM peaks, on 4 cores 9Gb... so carefull. The GUI is really a nice addon! But again, the main pre-configuration will still remain in the config.xml. So its targetting more advanced users when it comes to specific needs... Thnks Tony to stay motivated, highly appreciated :-) :-) I'll try to support what I can when you have questions, not leaving it all up to tony... yesternight I encountered myself an issue, a very stupid one even, just to say it happens and will happen often :-) I've run NL without problems... now if you saw the time gap between end of NL rendering, and beginning of BE rendering in the above posts, was my fault ^^ On the second tab of W2XP, instead of pointing to the config file, I've put the pbf file into. Don't ask me why, maybe the night-time... but after sending a print to tony, he pointed me that mess out :-) SOOOO stupid error :-) I can only say: before asking help, read it all through, but sometimes another person, another look is needed ^^ ... I'd even add, don't do it over night ^^ lol

guys guys guys.... fasten your seatbelt, it's going to be fast!!!! :-) ATTENTION THOUGH: IT IS NOT YET ONLINE, and will be when it's finished... when? When it's finished! :-) PLEASE, do NOT e-mail to have it :-) New GUI... First Tab... here i'm gonna render NL (netherlands, EU) 2nd tab... new: you now can chose your config.xml file... if you have any other configs around, it's nice :-) PLOY file... will help to now join the countries on the proper way. It SEEMS like the rough cuts are gone now on limits between rendered countries. So, let's start rendering, time stamp 22:50 crazy, after (22:58) not even 8 minutes all 5 passes done so far... that was way slower before! And here, stunning stuff too. First tab again, teh Tiles are shown. It's going live! Red: not started, blue started, green done... and once a tile is done, the part of the country shines thrue... ok useless, but HEY, IT'S BEAUTIFUL! :-) And below, finished for NL. THe version before took me NL over 2 hours rendering. Now? (23:15) 25 MINUTES!!! in the meantime I chatted around with tony, ... So, then Belgium.....(23:43) CRAZY, the 5 passes in less then 2 minutes!!!! This time, I setup 6 cores... so he gets 6 tiles at once! fast and surely.... FINISHED!!!!!!! Time? (23:50) UNDER 8 MINUTES!!!! (20 on version before) I've flown from BE over to NL, and couldn't see any anomaly this time, so it looks like it works, the overlapping problem from country to country looks history. And now the biggest and hardest news: we have to wait up when it's done. When? When it's done....

here some shots above LOWI (Lowi scenery installed + G2XPL satelite pics with HDMeshv2).... surrounding again with World2Xplane...

The only I've upped w/o autogen is Netherlands 0.4.0 (on simheaven's). Now if you want more... i can't (no time), i might do italy .. but for the rest, ask PilotBalu at Simheaven ^^ ;-) Cheers
-
Hi guys :-) Here some shots of the Netherlands rendered with pre-beta 0.4.0... READ THE TXT file at the ftp, under http://simheaven.com/experimental/Europe/NeedsWMMFromWorld2Xplane/ (thnx to simheaven for hosting!) Again, read the TXT file delivered with it.. or the question above will raise again ^^ Here some shots, take off from MAASTRICHT (NL)

Those houses are in number of 400+ right now, and up (WMM) and ready to be used for testing if wanted. In 2-3 weeks it will be 800 ;-) Things I have to check with tony, maybe i did something wrong: they are all 3 storeys. In the lib I've put 3 to 6 stories buldings....
-
new coming houses (600+) with a more city-style-art are benig designed.... should go online within a few weeks :-) But, I'm dependend on the World2Xplane version. To fit the houses correctly I'll have to wait the next evolution of Tony's beta... not that those city-houses grow at Land ^^ cheers

@Caruso: Now well, if there's a really, REALLLY nice girl in bikini, FORGET TONY's RULE ABOVE ^^

He got upset a day... somebody, me, asked him a question on a scenery he did... really nicely, trying to understand why this and why's that... and he was more awaiting things like: no critics at all, not even constructive, just everybody must praise him and tell him hopw great he does sceneries and so on... well, a person who doesn't like to improve itself ^^ But as said, he keeps on going again, and reworks it all, don't know what happens to that guy ^^ Strange part is that this happens daily here and on all other forums I am... on the french, he just go berserk...
-
Well, I got it... but he will kill me if I distribute it, this guy's crazy ^^ But good news, he will release a new release this summer... well, doesn't look as real as it get's (all too white and bright what anyway...), but at least the landmarks are there and it's good for VFR :-) Patience :-)

Please post your weather config and rendering settings/preferences. W/O that it's just nonesense. Also, not using a ZL17 is of course a HUGE fps gain. The libraries alone don't impact anything if not used in a scenery... Still missing your pc specs too... :-)
-
Tom... your scene is 'empty'. Install ZL17 tiles over it with Mesh HD v2 integrated, and get a more populated area.. Also, could you post an image of: - render settings - weather conditions that would give it a response by itself :-) As I'm running latest computer specs, you just can't get even 40fps on a descent scenery with all option turned on. IMPOSSIBLE

yes, why the question?
-
here some screens of Brussels (BE).... my houses start to investigate the terrain... added onto world-model around 130 more houses...
-
for enabling multicore, this line must be setup in the config.xml file... Here mine ( a quad core, with hyperthreat, so 8 cores, to answer your question) <processor-threads>8</processor-threads>
-
I've put online 4 screenies, just scroll up to my post ;-) There are not ALL news in, but a few already... And, it's still not a whole in one package of course, just to make sure :-)
-
as usual, amazing work mate!!!!!!
-
the multithread, for info.... Rendering Belgium takes around an hour... the multithread (8 cores for me) and a RamDisk (used 30Gb), made me rendering Belgium within 9 minutes!!!
-
yep.... I start recon some of mine... slowly but surely :-)
-
here some shots from Belgium, around Brussels :-)
-
..20x20 delayed.... In the meantime, I upped 388 houses, so you can play with at World2Xplane... I dirtied the textures, so they look a bit more real as all clean and new To come: night textures... and then the rest up to 20x20...
-
@Tom: You are incredible, you know that?! :-) - Texture wrapping: You talk about facades, which roofs are wrongly mapped... if that's the case: this is an already known problem and is fixed in further version - Object repeating: looks like you don't (won't?) understand: the program for this part works fine. So again: it grabs objects in a library... if you want diverse industry 3D building, we would be pleased of some of your input to avoid repetition. - Misplaced textures: same as texture wrapping From 100fps to 33? 100 is way overkill, and where the hell did you get 100fps, on the sahara without any details turned on??... Add some orthophotos ZL17, fly over a city like.... lets say Brussels (in Belgium, western of germany) rendered with World2Xplane, and only then you're allowed to complain about FPS drops, I'd be quite interrested on what results you got there ;-) Now where you really could get helpful and make us advance, would be to understand exactly the Facade format, how it's working and mapping the textures (and no need to point us to site we surely already know about)... that would be really greatfull. I created a new texture for fences, didn't worked... so i took an existing png, and replaced its content, and that worked. Why? So far you just get the errors we all know about, were it's not even an error, but a lack of 3D library ^^ So you could help even twice :-) Thnks for your investigations :-)
-
thnx i used as tony told me: barrier=fence Guess the rest should work... to test Checked with tony: he adds that too into the xml, so, yes. I just have to fix some graphs to make look it nicer ;-)
