Hi there,

 

as soon as Im reaching my displayed T/D I usually (If there is no ATC online) went down to FL100 and then further down to get into my approach level, the plane increases the sink rate initally to 5000 F/min after activating "LVL Change" Button, is this realistic? This high sink rates? After a while, as soon as the plane gets to the 330knots limit it levels a bit up not to increase the rate of descent.

Just wanted to know if this are normal sinkrates at the beginning, dont know if everyone ist vomiting in the back then :D

My procedure is to start descent in v/s mode at -1000fpm 5-10NM prior to T/D, this way I smoothly intercept the descent profile and then either engage vnav or follow the magenta diamond by manually adjusting v/s. Passengers don't even realize they are going down. [emoji4]
