I was wondering if it would be possible to have a black (dark) theme to choose

If you mean a darker background, I'm with you. There would need to be sufficient contrast to the text but a sight impaired person has difficulty in both high and low contrast. Too much contrast viz White background and black text. The best option, for me, anyway would be a 70-80% Grey with white text. My eyes would not tire as quickly.
