GPS Xplane 530 not working in Saab 340

Gday gents

Am really enjoying this aircraft and learning to fly it, but finding some aspects difficult due to an out of date user manual and dated youtube videos (which dont accurately reflect the current version of the LES Saab 340.

Can someone please provide a tutorial on how to use the fitted GPS 530?

I cant get it to turn on and I cant get it to pop out as seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6somdiggig

I've tested with GA aircraft in Xplane and it seems to work fine. Just cant seem to make it work with the Saab 340. Is there something im missing in the start-up procedure or an option Ive forgotten to tick somewhere? Im new to X-Plane, so please be patient with me 

Am running Xplane 4.5 and latest version of the Saab 340.
