MartinJ Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 Hello, today I decided that it is time to show you guys a screenshot of what I've been working on the last couple of months. Your thoughts and opinions are highly welcome. Kind regardsMartin 5 Quote
PinkJackal Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 Great stuff if will be finished!Custom FMC with AIRAC support, custom systems??? Good luck! Quote
Ryan M. Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 This definitely seems promising, I can't wait to see the results! Quote
dwayne299 Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 Nice man! I hope you make it a study sim! Quote
lizz Posted January 20, 2015 Report Posted January 20, 2015 Hi martin, Nice project..... In our museum for flight simulation in holland we have a real retired CAE full A310 flightsimulator that is currently brought back to life although we had to remove the motion system. If you require pictures or other details just let me know. You can have a look at www.vluchtsimulatie.nl Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD 1 Quote
MartinJ Posted January 23, 2015 Author Report Posted January 23, 2015 Hi guys, here are two more pictures. I hope you guys like them. @lizz: I'll send you a message. Kind regardsMartin 5 Quote
jettojig Posted January 23, 2015 Report Posted January 23, 2015 That does look pretty! Will be interesting to fly an older Airbus... Quote
MartinJ Posted January 24, 2015 Author Report Posted January 24, 2015 modeling of the pedestal - checked.... 5 Quote
MartinJ Posted March 13, 2015 Author Report Posted March 13, 2015 There has been some progress, but nothing worth to show at the moment. I will post some new pictures as soon as there are 'real' news. Quote
Ram Cummins Posted March 14, 2015 Report Posted March 14, 2015 Sounds good, thanks for the update. Quote
MartinJ Posted May 6, 2015 Author Report Posted May 6, 2015 (edited) Here's a picture to show you guys that I am still working on the project. It shows the autopilot section which I redid. It's always fascinating to see how much time even or especially the small details require to get them right. Next on the list are the side consoles, which are very annoying due to their weird geometry. Despite doing all the modeling and having a normal life with a regular job and a wife I'm building my own A310 yoke. I bought a yoke from a real plane maybe a year ago and I've been working on converting it to a pc joystick ever since. If you'd like I can share some photos with you. Take care! Ram Cummins Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Awesome, it looks amazing! And yes, show us some pics of that yoke please. Quote
MartinJ Posted June 3, 2015 Author Report Posted June 3, 2015 Thanks to gizmo the elec panel becomes more and more alive every day. 4 Quote
jettojig Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 Looking good! How deeply will you be simulating electrical and other systems? Also, any news on that yoke? Quote
x-plane 123 Posted June 4, 2015 Report Posted June 4, 2015 Looks great! I too am wondering how deep the systems will be? Quote
MartinJ Posted June 5, 2015 Author Report Posted June 5, 2015 (edited) I'm glad you like my work. As for the elec panel I'm proud to say that it represents the real thing as far possible. The logic behind the elec system is all custom made and non of the X-Plane basic systems are being used. E.g. the gen1 push button doesn't control the ac bus 1 directly but it sends a signal to the generator line contactor which opens if certain conditions are met. Next the bus transfer contactor 1 opens to supply the ac bus 2 if there's no apu power, external power or generator 2 power available. In addition there's an idg temperature model which leads to a temperature raise if an idg 1 failure occurs. If you disregards the idg 1 fault then gen 1 will fail eventually. So there's pretty much to play with.... Edited June 5, 2015 by MartinJ Quote
jettojig Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 Wow, that sounds really impressive! Looking forward to seeing more. By the way, will wee see freighter or multiple engine variants? And will there be a 3D cabin as well as the flight deck? Quote
MartinJ Posted June 11, 2015 Author Report Posted June 11, 2015 Sorry for the delayed answer. The initial release will be an Airbus A310-304ET both as freighter and passenger version. I'm afraid a 3d cabin is not on the to-do list at the moment. Quote
jettojig Posted June 11, 2015 Report Posted June 11, 2015 No problem! That sounds excellent - Would love to see a 3D cabin at some point but it isn't an absolute must-have. Some great aircraft like the SSG B748 also don't have one. Quote
MartinJ Posted June 18, 2015 Author Report Posted June 18, 2015 Good news everyone! The elec panel is done and works like a charm. The only two functionalities missing are the standby generator and the land recovery logic. Those will be added later when the respective systems are modeled too. Next on the list is the fuel panel. I'll keep you updated on the further developements. CheersMartin Quote
jettojig Posted June 21, 2015 Report Posted June 21, 2015 Wonderful! This is shaping up to be great already, especially with the system depth you appear to be implementing... 1 Quote
