JohnMAXX Posted April 27, 2014 Report Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) Ok guys here are some of the default themes that are hard coded into MAXX FX, duh moment on my end.... Now if there is a default theme that is almost right, you can adjust it...... Defaults.zip Defaults2.zip Not all default themes are represented here since some use custom shaders.... Unzip the packageNavigate to (X-Plane Root)/Resources/Plugins/MAXXFX/UserEffects....Drop the files into that folderGoto the MAXX FX UI inside X-Plane check power usergoto load and select the default theme you would like to edit ****Special Note***** The edited files will only be available from the power user setting not from the default menu...... jonrd463 Posted May 11, 2014 Report Posted May 11, 2014 Aha, thanks John! I had a HDD failure about 3 months ago and decided to hold off on rebuilding my X-Plane install until after 10.30 dropped, but the bug caught me. First up after getting everything back in order was to get MaxxFX, and WOW, what a difference it makes! My next thought was to try to tweak some of the default settings, because for a couple of them, I wanted to adjust one or two settings just a smidge, but keep the overall feel. I was just getting ready to post the question about adding that functionality in an update, when I found this post, so thanks again! Your stuff is gold, absolute gold! 1 Quote
jfail Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) Hi John How can I save a custom theme as the default MaxxFx theme anytime XP-10 loads? For example, I save a theme as "mytheme", how do I set it to be the default on load up? Maybe I am just getting dull in my old age but I can't find anything about that subject. It seems like every time I start XP-10 the default theme seems to be different than what I saved, i.e. brightness not the same etc. Maybe I am just mis-understanding how MaxxFx starts up. Thanks John Edited August 28, 2014 by jfail Quote
JohnMAXX Posted August 28, 2014 Author Report Posted August 28, 2014 John if that theme is in use prior to closing out Maxx fx it will load the next time X-Plane is started Quote
jfail Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 Thanks John I was just not sure that was the case so I thought I had better ask. I am about to give up on P3D 2.3 and move to XP-10 permanently. XP is just more stable and not so damn cranky so I have been spending a lot more time with XP recently and getting into the add-ons in more depth. I just wish XP had some sort of decent ATC. I really miss that. SkyMaxxPro has made a major difference in my observations of XP-10. 1 Quote
sqrt(-1) Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 I just wish XP had some sort of decent ATC. I really miss that. While X-Plane's ATC certainly needs work, it will never offer take-off to touchdown navigational guidance. Just like in the real world. Quote
