Boeing 777-200 vs boeing 777-300

No. In fact, the reverse is true: the B77L (777-200LR) is more efficient than the B77W (777-300ER). The B77L has a higher MTOW and shorter takeoff run at MTOW than the B77W. The B77L's engines provide about 100 kN more thrust than the B77W's. Furthermore, the wingspan on the B77W is shorter than the B77L.

The B77W is intended for shorter flights than the B77L, which is why it doesn't have the power nor performance requirements of the B77L; its range is about 7725 nm whereas the B77L's range is about 9400 (both at max payload).

The 777-300ER (77W) has a higher MTOW than the 777-200LR (77L) based on Boeing's info. The thrust for the engines on the 77L is the same or slightly lower than the 77W depending on the engine variant. But I believe the 77L has a better power to weight ratio. Finally, the wingspan of the 77L and 77W are equivalent.
