FloB Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Not sure what these settings do and wasn't able to find out by testing or reading the manual (the clouds are created completely new after each change and the difference isn't that obvious - at least for me).Does a higher setting of the min cloud size a) increase the size of the smallest clouds drawn decrease itc) draw a higher number of small clouds? Same with max cloud size setting... Can someone clarify this, please? Thanks Flo Quote
JohnMAXX Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 (edited) I figure the best way to show you the differences is to give you a series of images......Basically the settings do exactly what they say, they change the sizes of the procedurally drawn cloud puffs..... 1. Setting for both Min/Max set all the way to the right (high) 2. Here is one with the setting set in the middle for both the min/max (medium) 3. And finally set all the way to the left (low) Whats beautiful about these clouds is there is not much difference in the overall appearance, but look at the FPS counter in each image. The same applies to the cloud detail slider..... Edited January 5, 2014 by JohnMAXX Quote
FloB Posted January 5, 2014 Author Report Posted January 5, 2014 they change the sizes of the procedurally drawn cloud puffs..... Seems I'm to stupid to understand...does that actually mean the cloud size (one cloud made of many puffs, right?) stays the same and only the puff size is different? If I would have to guess the settings just by looking at those pictures - honestly I couldn't tell... JohnMAXX Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 The clouds do change size but it may not seem so if they redraw closer to the aircraft.. ... Quote
trevg Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Understood so far, if you had one slider.Having 2 sliders, does the Min slider set to full left equal smaller number of clouds and the max set to the full right equal thicker clouds ?? Quote
JohnMAXX Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Smaller or larger not thicker the thickness stays the same..... The cloud details slider will add more "depth" to the clouds but again not thickness...... Quote
