FogGobbler Posted December 1, 2013 Report Posted December 1, 2013 Hi, I just had a short flight (26.000ft) from EDDT to EDDW an noticed a problem with SkyMaXX. Clouds were rendered in EDDT but the further a went towards EDDW the less clouds were rendered and at EDDW there were no clouds at all. Seems that the cloud engine didn´t pass the update of the real weather on to SkyMaxx. Thankful for any help, regards,Oli Quote
JohnMAXX Posted December 1, 2013 Report Posted December 1, 2013 Actually that's an expected result, let me guess you were using the default real world weather? What happens with the default weather engine is there are open areas in the cloud layers when the METAR is pulled from the internet. X-Plane tells both the default and SkyMAXX.....Hey don't draw clouds here. If you pull up the weather dialog you can see these open areas...... I was recommending NOAA plugin since the weather pulled has more consistent patterns and works better with SkyMAXX. But we are finding out that updates occur way to frequently which causes a pause in X-Plane. I guess a temporary solution would be to pull real world weather and switch back set weather uniformly without touching cloud layers, but to be honest I haven't tried this myself yet...... Quote
FogGobbler Posted December 2, 2013 Author Report Posted December 2, 2013 Hi John, thanks for your reply and support.Yes, the problem occurs with the default real weather setting. I can understand the "holes" (no clouds) in the upper sky layers, but at airport elevation level clouds should be visible again, or am I wrong? The default x-plane weather (without SkyMaXX) works, i.e. the clouds are visible at the destination area. I also have to reload the real weather sometimes, when I start xplane, because the clouds are not visible. Bye,Oli Quote
