Nicola_M Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 Seems like somebody sadly does not like our current president...That'd be most Americans, Europeans, certainly Middle Easterners. Japanese might not hate him. 1
Jay Gatsby Posted September 4, 2013 Author Report Posted September 4, 2013 That'd be most Americans, Europeans, certainly Middle Easterners. Japanese might not hate him. True...but Americans voted for him, some (if not most) Canadians like him, French love him...however I'm not sure Japanese don't hate him I know Russians can't stand him!
Nicola_M Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 At least he has a good choice of plane - the venerable old 747. Nice video btw.
Orcair Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 He might be the last one to order the 747 at all. The new 747-8I... no other airlines is likely too at this point
Jay Gatsby Posted September 4, 2013 Author Report Posted September 4, 2013 He might be the last one to order the 747 at all. The new 747-8I... no other airlines is likely too at this point Doubt it will be under Mr. O presidential term that the US Govt. will order the AFO replacement. But since we are talking about the AFO replacement...why does the US Govt. not want to order a B77W? I mean the Japanese Govt ordered that for there replacement and France is using a A332 for there presidential jet. As for Boeing well I think the Boeing B747-8 future will be a VERY interesting one because we know that they can't shut down the production line until the US Govt. will place its order and I doubt that the order book (-8i and -8F combined) will last that long...
Orcair Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 I believe that the US gov't would prefer a 4-engine a/c for its redundancy. It also has 3 decks (vs. 2 on the 77W) where more com equipment etc. can be stored. I agree about the 748 production line. Should be interesting

Liner45 Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 well if you have a four engine aircraft and one fails you could still have some power to maneuver the aircraft to safety..
Jay Gatsby Posted September 4, 2013 Author Report Posted September 4, 2013 (edited) well if you have a four engine aircraft and one fails you could still have some power to maneuver the aircraft to safety..Well considering the GE90 is the most powerfull powerplant out there I think the B77W has power to spare... Liner45 Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 Imagine if the president used an a380 doubt it because its european
BWolf7 Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 (edited) Imagine if the president used an a380 doubt it because its europeanCorrect, just like Obama drives around in crappy American cars. I'm not sure that Cameron himself flies on any designated plane... And definitely not an A380. I'm pretty sure he just charters flights when he needs them, or rings up Obama to fly him on Air Force One... Edited September 4, 2013 by BWolf7
Jay Gatsby Posted September 4, 2013 Author Report Posted September 4, 2013 I found the PERFECT plane to replace AFO...drumb roll please...Ilyushin Il-96!
Ryan M. Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 Correct, just like Obama drives around in crappy American cars. I'm not sure that Cameron himself flies on any designated plane... Jay Gatsby Posted September 5, 2013 Author Report Posted September 5, 2013 Crappy? Oh hell no. Cadillac one is the best armored car in the world today. Lets be honest the armored car that Cadillac makes is the only good car they make If you want a good car get a BMW!

Carlos Garcia Posted September 10, 2013 Report Posted September 10, 2013 (edited) USAF seeks information on “Air Force One” replacement http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/usaf-seeks-information-on-air-force-one-replacement-390368/ "The four-engine requirement means that there are only three possible contenders for the programme: Boeing's 747-8 Intercontinental and Airbus's A380 and A340." Edited September 10, 2013 by Carlos Garcia
Ryan M. Posted September 10, 2013 Report Posted September 10, 2013 Honestly, the only real option is the 748, as the Airbuses aren't from the US.
