jzeitlin Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 Your best bet is to buy FlyTampa's OMDB and convert it for the airport Quote
captainamerican Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 I purchased fly tampa's OMDB, how do I convert it nicely, i used fs2xp but I don't want my money to go to waste because I can't seem to do it properly. somebody give me a walkthrough? greatly appreciated. Quote
Peter T. Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 FS2X-Plane have feelings, if you treat it badly like feeding a bunch of hard-to-convert sceneries to the program...it will be angry and it wont convert nicely. if you feed him good easy-to-convert scenery then it will like you and will help convert your sceneries "nicely". Jokes....FlyTampa OMDB converts pretty well except some missing underlying textures... Quote
captainamerican Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 it created a fake fs2004 folder right, do I have to install that scenery into those folders, or can I select it and just convert right away? Thanks! Quote
Peter T. Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 Yes, select that folder...and install there. then use FS2X-Plane and locate the folder of the scenery then locate your x-plane custom scenery folder...then hit convert. Quote
captainamerican Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 Thank you for your help, ill try it, let you know if anything goes wrong, hopefully not! Quote
captainamerican Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 (From the flytampa folder after installation) Okay, to be clear: msfs scenery location: FS2004>Addon Scenery>DubaiAdditional msfs libraries: FS2004>X-Plane Scenery: X-Plane 10>Custom Scenery Sorry I never really converted and decided to take a risk with the money, lilttle newbie at scenery conversions. hope this is right Quote
Peter T. Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 Additional Msfs libraries is same location as msfs scenery location. Quote
captainamerican Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 Okay, it worked thank you! Its a relief, what I'm doing now is actually putting is tons of static and animated aircraft and ground services, and Also deleted those black squares, I'm doing it accurately, and I think I'll post it when I'm done. Im using files from some of the most popular sceneries, and took a few from the Paris sceneries and KSFO payware ones. Will be good in the end. Quote
captainamerican Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 The only problem is with the runways, there are hundreds of tiny black squares replacing the runway lights, and they are not appearing in overlay editor. I'm going to be looking for a solution.. Quote
