Hi there gurus.

Just looking for some help with the generic autopilot LOC capture function.

Xplane 10.20 and all aircraft overshoot LLZ (even with a 30degree intercept at a benign Groundspeed). I have studied and conducted experiments with Plane maker's AP functions (LLZ CDI settings) but it seems none of these deal with the initial capture.

Can anyone provide a solution please? Is there an autopilot plugin that replaces the generic autopilot for all aircraft?

Cheers

Are you properly intercepting the localizer and glide slope?

Find an airport with a full ILS and GS, and then follow the proper IFR approach procedure for said airport, runway, etc...  If the aircraft will still not intercept the ILS, then there is likely an issue.

ILS approches need to be attempted following the correct procedures.  You need to be at the correct altitude, and location as you intercept the LOC and GS.  If your too high, or too low, your going to have issues with the approach.

hi thanks eagle wing - yes as I said 30 degree intercept (standard industry ATC vectoring angle) and a groundspeed corresponding to aircraft IAL ICAO perf category. LLZ is overshot going to an amount corresponding to full scale deflection the other side of LOC before correcting. Frustrating (and dangerous for parallel runways!)
