okay. It's become quite evident, that some of the liveries uploaded to this site that are of my 767, are converted versions of their FSX counterparts. Now although none of the FSX painters have any issues with it yet, it would be prefered if everyone who posts such liveries credit the original designers as the creators of the paint.

This is a list of Authors who permit conversions of their paints:

Brandon Henry

Philip Foglar

Stephen Groom

Stefan Bree

Other painters should be consulted first.

Understand, it's totally fine to convert those paints, since they were literally MADE for this jet, but please, give proper credits when proper credits are due.

So if I were to post a livery made by Philip Foglar all I need to do is give him credit?

I would prefer to ask permission anyway.

Converting and/or  publishing work others made cannot be done without permission of the original author.

Always ask permission first and refer to this permission in the credits.

I think it nice and polite to ask.

Agreed, absolutely. Normal copyright rules imply that permission must be sought, unless the original author states explicitly that third parties may republish without permission. Separate permission must be sought and granted if the original file(s) is/are edited or otherwise altered in any way.
