Ntr09 Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) Hello guys. Lately I've been working on covering the Cumberland Plateau area of Tennessee. So far I've accomplished four major ones, KCSV, KSRB, 8A3 and 2A1. I still have several to go, with Portland, TN 1M5 up next, though not necessarily located on the Cumberland Plateau, it was suggested to me by Spikeo on the .org and decided to do it for him. Here are some screenshots. They were originally edited for use on the org so they are quite compressed.Any comments, insight, suggestions, and anything else you have to say is certainly welcome. chris k Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 Schweet! You gonna .POL and .PNG that ortho?- CK. Quote
Ntr09 Posted October 25, 2012 Author Report Posted October 25, 2012 Schweet! You gonna .POL and .PNG that ortho?- CK.Nope, these sceneries are for XP-10 and converted NAIP orthos don't really look that good with all the processing that has to be done. I've tried some, but they never look quite right. I use orthoimagery purely for reference since there is no good default apt.dat for many of the sceneries I've done. Way easier than cross-referencing to google earth. Quote
Redfisher Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 Have you checked with the county to see if they have any imagery? Quote
Ntr09 Posted October 25, 2012 Author Report Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) Have you checked with the county to see if they have any imagery?Have you checked with the county to see if they have any imagery? There isn't any high-res (I.E. One-foot scale) imagery for the area of either of the aforementioned airports. I prefer how X-P10 looks over any "Urban" orthos. Mountains on the other hand, can look great with a high quality orthoscenery. -NR Edited October 25, 2012 by Ntr09 Quote
Ntr09 Posted January 8, 2013 Author Report Posted January 8, 2013 Ok, KEKQ has hit a bit of a standstill. I can't find any hangars of the right length anywhere in a number of different libraries (OSX, XP10 default, R2, Ruscenery). Anyone know where I can find more hangar objects? Quote
Charlie Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 (edited) I made some really simple hangar segments that you can change to fit any length using sketchup. You can also easily change the colour Edited January 8, 2013 by Char1ie473 Quote
Ntr09 Posted January 8, 2013 Author Report Posted January 8, 2013 That's not the kind of hangar I was talking about, sorry. I'm talking about the ones like "long_row_beige.agp" in the default library which are sadly too large. Nice work though! -NR Quote
3TB Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 NR, what size do you need? I have made custom row hangars for my KFMY scenery, of varying length. If you are interested, let me know the length/width in meters and the general color (light or dark beige). I may be able to customize it for you. Quote
Ntr09 Posted January 8, 2013 Author Report Posted January 8, 2013 (edited) I think they need to be about 230ft. long and I don't know the width. I'll get on WED and measure this evening and let you know then. Thanks! -NR Edited January 8, 2013 by Ntr09 Quote
3TB Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 I saw that KEKQ has two row hangars and I measured them in Google Earth (really handy tool for sure!). They are 70m (230ft) x 16m (52ft). The hangar in the photo I posted is the same size. Yours if you want it. Quote
Ntr09 Posted January 8, 2013 Author Report Posted January 8, 2013 Ah yes thank you. You can PM it to me if you'd like. I will give credit to your work. -NR Quote
Ntr09 Posted January 9, 2013 Author Report Posted January 9, 2013 Thanks again for the objects 3TB. Here is a shot of them in sim at KEKQ: -NR Quote
Ntr09 Posted January 10, 2013 Author Report Posted January 10, 2013 Speaking of hangar objects, I need one for another project that is about 35' wide by 320' long if anyone has one. -NR Quote
3TB Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 Speaking of hangar objects, I need one for another project that is about 35' wide by 320' long if anyone has one. -NR What kind of doors/ type of hangar is it? And where? I could use the same texture I sent you to model one that size. I like to see a pic if possible. Quote
Ntr09 Posted January 11, 2013 Author Report Posted January 11, 2013 It is at 2A1. I'm updating it and it needs better hangars. It is a row hangar with alternating doors. (left/right/left/right and so on) I don't have any pictures of it at the moment. -NR Quote
3TB Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 I'm texturing this based on what I saw on Google Street View. This going to work for you, or do you want it a standard beige. And do you want GI lighting attached to the building? Quote
Ntr09 Posted January 12, 2013 Author Report Posted January 12, 2013 Oh wow thanks! That looks just like the real one. Yes, Gl lighting would be nice. Thanks so much! -NR Quote
Ntr09 Posted January 12, 2013 Author Report Posted January 12, 2013 Thanks again for making these 3TB! -NR Quote
