meshman Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 If you are going to edit ONE GeoTiff file, then this utility will help extract and reinsert the geo data; http://freegeographytools.com/2007/another-tiff-worldfilemetadata-program If you are looking at slicing a GeoTiff into many files, then by that process you lose the geo data that was resident for the original file. You would effectively need to make new, smaller GeoTiff files which would contain their own geo data. A possible free option to slicing and dicing files would be MapWindow; http://www.mapwindow.org/ I haven't really worked with this program, so cannot say if it will fit the bill. Quote
