signmanbob Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 Hello,I have gone back and reflown the tutorial to be sure that I am doing everything right.Everything sets up fine with the flight and I take off normally, but when I get ready to engage the autopilot, I be sure to trim the aircraft and engage the autopilot.Shortly afterward, the aircraft goes nose down, then flips upside down and the engines get quiet as I hopelessly crash to the ground. The engines get quiet, yet the needles still show EGT.I have done several flights, but I am getting frustrated.I am using X-Plane10 with Windows 7 Ultimate 64x and 12Gigs of RAM.I would appreciate any suggestions.Thank you,Bob Quote
Japo32 Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 The engines goes off because the G-negative of the plane going down suddently. The best you can do it a CONTINOUS TRIMMING.. so when you have the plane climbing and don't pulling the yoke, is when you have the correct trim. That is the moment when you can engage the autopilot. Autopilot won't never do magic of the flying of the plane. You have to leave it in the correct situation before engaging. After that all will be smooth. Quote
Japo32 Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 Also update to lastest xplane beta release candidate.. and delete what is inside your preferences folder inside of Output folder. There was a bug with x-plane about the way autopilot trimed the plane. Quote
