chris k Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 .... as much as they're realizing they bit off more than they could chew. v10 is a vastly ambitious upgrade to X-Plane+1 Agreed.I also think reality is starting to set in with LR. Lots of great ideas, but the hardware to execute upon it aren't anywhere near it yet. (i.e. clouds, cities built form blades of grass, etc..). Knocking down the clouds, and the need for something like UrbanMAXX are good examples of the void that is left between ideas and execution.- CK. Quote

A lot of the art assets are still missing. I imagine that performance will steadily improve as the run of v10 goes along, but, IMO, we're looking at months until it really becomes a replacement for v9. Quote
Simmo W Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 Oh how I love that word 'nerfed' Chris! Obviously a high-tech engineering term.I've heard that even ppl with 580s and 590s can't get HDR and high results, crazy. The 'ring of cloud' doesn't bother me too much, unless I look for it Quote
chris k Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) Take that, you clouds!!!Yes, it's an ancient network engineering term - handed down from the days of yore, and passed down from generation to generation of Internet Builders. =)</end digression - back on topic you!> Edited March 5, 2012 by chris k Quote
dpny Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 Way back in the v10 pre-release days, Ben had a blog post in which he said it's possible that v10 might actually saturate the PCI bus. Quote
