Carenado C172 side view

I recently purchased a few Carenado planes for X-Plane 10, i.e. The Bonanza, C152, C172 and the C182. I love the Bonanza and C152, however I have some problems with the C172 and 182 regarding the view from the side.

I have an option of my joystick to quickly pan to the left and right to look out the side, which is especially useful when flying traffic patterns. However on the C172 and 182, then view is completely obscured, almost as if the pilot is sat really high up with his head in the roof. The only way to get it to work is to go to 3D view, and use the down key to move down. However, upon looking forward again, it resets the view.

I find it hard to continually use the mouse and adjust everything when I want to look quickly out the side-window. I don't have this problem at all in the C152 and Bonanza, and another C172/182 that I have from another developer.

Does anyone know how to fix this, or at least make it so that I can make the system remember when I pan to the right?

you can change the viewpoint in plane maker. I did this, too, for the C172. I am however happy with the viewpoint in the C185 (wich is the one you mean, I guess).
