Hi I'm not sure if posting here is the place to post my question but I can't figure out how to repaint correctly the PNG files for the aircraft in Xplane 9.70 .

Do those files need to be converted over to a different version before you start repainting your aircraft ?

I wanted to repaint the B747-400 United made by XPlane one of their stock airliners in Xplane 9 , when you look at the file the plane looks out of shape to repaint .

I'm using Paint Shop Pro 8 , I have had it for years so its old but still works with PNG files and other paint texture files .

Right now all I'm trying to do is get the file setup in Paint Shop Pro for repainting so it looks like a full size aircraft to repaint .

If anyone can help me get started that would be great because I'm not a professional XPlane repainter.

Thanks I'll checkback later .

Goto menu in planemaker: special > output texture map starting points. what you are looking for is any difference between the old texture, and the new output texture.. if there is, I would suggest maybe re-updating, that may help. Are you saying that the paint looks funny on the plane, or in the texture?

Sorry for the slow reply , I have been busy repainting the 737-800 v4 in our VA colors and log all this week and just finished repainting it .

Most of my issues repainting that aircraft I just finished I figured out on my own but to get back to the issue working with Xplane stock 747-400 I think it is the purple airlines that is included with Xplane 9 what I'm see and working with is a texture file where the airliner looks sort squeezed looking and its very hard to repaint atlease for me it is.

Thats why I decided to use the airliner by Benedikt Stratmann , his plane was easy to repaint except when I started trying to repaint and add the stripping along the fuselage that was tricky .

I ended up having to make a paper template and laying that over the texture files to match both sides of the aircraft up , not sure if that was the correct way of doing it but it seemed to worked for me .

Right now the aircraft I repainted for my upcoming Pinellas Virtual airline video is ready for flight , I started creating some new music to go with this new video I'm working on .

The whole video project I hope will be ready for youtube in the next four weeks , thanks for the support sorry for my slow reply but this sircraft I'm using and repainted worked out good for me it was the Xplane stock 747-400 that I was having issues with .

Cheers ! pilotman :)
