Hello,

A strange occurrence today while landing in Geneva, lining up 6 miles out, autopilot is disengaged and all flying is manual (ATS off). The speed does not decay lower than 160 knots.  Thrust settings in the FMS were last selected to be CRZ but I did not adjust this upon descending or landing, could I be doing something wrong?

Thanks for your feedback and help,

Hussam

Hello Hussam,

Following the checklist (!) will have you select thrust limit "TO" prior to landing, in case of go-around - although this has no effect on losing speed.

If your thrust levers are at idle and you're still not losing speed, consider:

  1. Reducing your rate of descent
  2. Adding flap
  3. Lowering the landing gear
  4. Deploying the speed brake

Remember, make the airplane do what you want it to do.
