karingka Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Hey Guys, 2 Things:Firstly, the paint-kit is a bit hard to use, for one main reason. The dirt is not a layer, but rather part of the white backround. This means that we have to paint over the dirt. It makes the livery look weird. Is this done on purpose, am I missing something? Secondly, I accidentally deleted the paint-kit while making a livery . Could someone resend it to me?Email: mtlcanadiensrdbest@yahoo.comThanks!!!!!
Kesomir Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Change paint layer mode to multiply.Just reinstall and you'll get your paint kit back.
karingka Posted May 13, 2011 Author Report Posted May 13, 2011 I've done that, but I still get one layer with white paint and the dirt on it.
Japo32 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Follow the same way as the examples included. They are made with plain colour
Japo32 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Yes, follow the same way I did them. That is why I left them there
karingka Posted May 13, 2011 Author Report Posted May 13, 2011 Ok. I still don't understand how to remove the dirt as a separate layer though. Thanks for the help!
Japo32 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Check what layer property I used to each color later. multiply or overlay... Don't remember right now.
karingka Posted May 14, 2011 Author Report Posted May 14, 2011 Javier, is their an easier way to paint the tail? since it is divided into two parts it is quite difficult... :-[Thanks!
Japo32 Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 Yes, it can be a little triky. Well you could try to import the obj fuselaje and alas, into blender importing with xplane plugins. Then export to alias wavefront obj (be careful because it is same named but different format) and import on photoshop cs4 or cs5 the 3d to paint in 3d.I will put the objects in next update to let people paint in 3d
karingka Posted May 16, 2011 Author Report Posted May 16, 2011 Hello Javier, I can't find the textures for the exterior cockpit emergency door? Do you know where they are?
Japo32 Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 Hello Javier, I can't find the textures for the exterior cockpit emergency door? Do you know where they are?yes.. they are not there.. but you can still modify it.... Go to objects folder and load Cockpit_PanelSuperior.png you will see the overhead panel texture.. BUT also the escape exit. You will see clearly the interior of it.. but the exterior is almost same level.. to the right. White one. below fuses textures 7 1/2 and 3 (on the left of Engine oil level.it is white so you won't have any problem modifying it. Of course you will have to modify the LIT one also (but that is almost black)
mutestyles Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 if you open the OBJ in a 3d program you can look at the assigned textures and what they go to so you know where to paint if you want
karingka Posted May 16, 2011 Author Report Posted May 16, 2011 Oh, thanks but i'm not too good at using those programs... (unlike Javier, who is awesome!)
Japo32 Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 well it is maybe a bit difficult at first time but don't worry, on 1.1 version you will have option to paint in 3D inside Photoshop. You only will have to load the file and the object will be there, and you will be able to rotate, scale.. etc.. painting it like a scale model.About finding those objects. Usually I put them near where they supposed to be in 3D... but some not (depending on packing the unwraping). But it will look something like the 3D one but "smashed" over a 2D surface.. Like melted. Paint in an strong colour (I usually use strong red...) export and search it on the exported model... that way you will know what part you painted... (you can show the wire layer to show polygons.
