Nova Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Yes, it's me...again... Anyone else noticed frame drops every half of a second or maybe only every second when you turn on the Navaids (intersections have the most impact)? While standing on the ground, i'm getting 45 fps (X-Plane clean install, only CRJ 200 running there, i don't even have textures installed there). As soon as i begin to move, and the display has to draw all navaids new, its stuttering.Could please someone check that? I would like to have the navaids displayed, although having them not is not a big deal. Thanks
philipp Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Could you please put your operating system in your signature? It's hard for me to remember what OS every of our customers is using Because on windows I have an idea what could cause the problem.Philipp
philipp Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Thank you. You have a very powerful system that should be able to handle the navaids with ease. Can you confirm the VOR or NDB display cause the same stuttering? Or is it only the navaids display? What precisely is stuttering then? Only the navdisplay or the whole simulation?Philipp
Nova Posted May 9, 2011 Author Report Posted May 9, 2011 Displaying anything else than the fixes makes has no impact on the sim.As soon as i enable them the whole sim "freezes" just for a millisecond and the frames go down to 25(?).Can't see how low they get, because they get to 45 again. But this is repeating all the time, until i either stop moving, or turn off the fixes.
philipp Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Now this is an issue description I can work with, thank you very much for your collaboration.Added to my investigation list.Philipp
Nova Posted May 9, 2011 Author Report Posted May 9, 2011 Ok, now comes the tricky part.I used EDDH again with Rwy 33. I made an takeoff without a flightplan, enables navaids, ndbs, airports. Nothing chnaged. Not even with 320NM vision. Then i enabled the fixes/intersections. And it worked. Even with 320NM with the display being more or less only white. So after a few miles, i flew back on heading 180, and made the flightplan (the same EDDH EDDV flightplan i posted earlier).Still no issues. Then i reset the plane again. Same flightplan, AMLUH departure, set AP on etc. No lag occuring any more. But i don't think, that i made something different. Yes it needs a few seconds to update when having 320NM set, but thats completely understandable. This is useless anyway since you can't read anything.*did some testing - not posted yet*Args, and just as i wanted to post it (plane turned to DH525) it started again. Lag even with only 5NM range. Happens when fixes shown, gone when fixes hidden.*did some more testing - not posted yet*DARN!! Now done it the 4th time (this time with engines running), and it occurs when he is on FMS course. Did now testing with QuteScoop, because in the 4th try, i had it running in the background. And right after i that lag started. So i closed it and reloaded the CRJ. Thought this might have been the problem (read here something about openGl getting messed up by other apps). So i closed X-Plane, to give openGL the chance to be loaded completely new, or to reset or whatever. But yet again, all was fine with range 20 and all visible, until passing DH251. With the right turn to DH252 lag began.Edit: Just another small issue: Range 160 and 320 are shown as 16 and 32. Got a bit confused right now.
