Crash Posted April 13, 2020 Report Posted April 13, 2020 I was wondering if there was a TOGA button, or if the CTOT L and R switches fulfill that purpose. Thanks, Crash. Quote
mmerelles Posted April 13, 2020 Report Posted April 13, 2020 CTOT is what you have on the SAAB340 for TO & GA. The CTOT system is used during takeoff and go-around for providing constant torque so you have not to adjust manually during those critical phases. to use it: 1. select desired torque value rotating the CTOT knob (pedestal) 2. arm the CTOT switches (pedestal, aside the knob) 3. when you are runway aligned and ready for TO. advance the throttle levers, CTOT will kick in when you pass 65% throttle lever BUT DO NOT overshoot 15-20% less than selected torque. Otherwise you override CTOT and go manual. This is in case you do require to override, you continue to push. note: to make this easy, just start pushing the throttles slowly until you see CTOT to kick in and leave them there. note: also engage autocoarsen on the overhead panel for TO and GA, this is to reduce drag due to windmilling in case of an engine failure hope this helps 1 Quote
