woweezowee Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 Apart from that I am guilty from not reading the manual for 2 weeks (been flying the Dash), I have a not so serious issue now initially:When opening the door (and cockpit emergency exit) it will always "snap back" instantly. No matter when I leave the mouse button - snap - doors closed again. I just hope that behaviour won't interfere with anything else in the plane. However I already found I better leave my Saitek Switch Panel untouched when using the CRJ. no problem, I know there are many different datarefs in use. But when fiddling around the first time, exploring the plane, xplane crashed. I am sure it was related to heavy button pushing on the Saitek Switch Panel.Any idea on the door issue welcome; meanwhile I proceed in learning the more serious stuff about this plane. ---P.S.: maybe related: when using pilotview (I start xplane with it beeing disabled, then enable it when necessary), the views will also stangely "snap" into different positions. normal panning and scrolling not possible.
Japo32 Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 Yes, pressure not set correctly. Wait a little or press depreess emergency button to let you open it
woweezowee Posted May 8, 2011 Author Report Posted May 8, 2011 from cold and dark it did not work. also does not work now (on the ramp since 15 minutes; also tried depressurizing)
Japo32 Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 Ok them the first time loading this has to be fixed. Take a look in difference pressure. it has to be less 0.1 to let you open the door
philipp Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 For the door to open, these two conditions must be met:-Cabin differential pressure below 0.1psi-parking brake setYou must land at destination airport with a correctly set pressure altitude, otherwise cabin will not be depressurized after landing and door won't open. You find both the landing alt and the differential pressure indication on the status page of the secondary EICAS.Philipp
woweezowee Posted May 8, 2011 Author Report Posted May 8, 2011 here's what happens:"my" CRJ does not read the altitude correctly.@Phillipp: Wie ich oben schon geschrieben habe geht es um "cold and dark" im Rahmen des Beispielfluges.
philipp Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 The screenshot clearly shows the LDG alt at 0ft.The plane is parked at 2600 ft. The landing alt indicating on the screen is 0 ft. This is not going to work. Please refer to the manual for the adjustment knob for the landing altitude.Philipp
woweezowee Posted May 8, 2011 Author Report Posted May 8, 2011 you say I have to set it after -> battery on -> set landing alt @2600? as a first thing to do? ok, i'll try! I did what the tutorial says and set it to Valencia alt. (the screens are from cold and dark right after launching xplane)EDIT: nope, won't help. I'll re-read the manual and tutorial....
philipp Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 Are you using downloaded weather? Does the local QNH differ A LOT from 1013?Philipp
woweezowee Posted May 8, 2011 Author Report Posted May 8, 2011 tutorial settings in the first screenshots, the last one with downloaded metar: 1021
philipp Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 Okay, thanks. Please try if the error occurs with standard pressure, 1013mb, 29.92 in.I guess the QNH difference has to be fed into the cabin pressure controller in some way. In the 727 there was a small sheet with numbers on the engineer panel to do this in the CRJ I have to look it up in my Canadair documentation. Added to the list of my issues under investigation.Philipp
woweezowee Posted May 8, 2011 Author Report Posted May 8, 2011 that's it. setting to 1013 solves issue. thx
philipp Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 So I have been investigating this issue thoroughly. Guess what? It's not me!I cross-checked with my CRJ AOM and I'm sure I implemented the cabin pressure controller correctly. I then cross-checked with another X-Plane aircraft that is pressurized and found that it is X-Plane that calculates the DP wrong. So I wrote an email to Austin, and he instantly replied that this is a bug in X-Plane 9 and he is implementing a fix for X-P 10. However, he was not so positive including the fix in an upcoming patch of v9 I fear.So for the time being, the CRJ 1.1 patch will just increase the margin that will allow you to open the door somewhat. Not realistic, but the best we can do with X-Plane 9.Philipp
