Can't Import WED apt.nav data

Ok, so I checked out the x-plane wiki tutorials and followed the instructions to modify the airport. The only thing is, I can't import the new apt.nav data into WED. I changed it using textedit, and then saved as apt.nav and an rtf, to no avail. I am running a Leopard on a Mac, 10.5.8 to be exact.

You need ot save as apt.dat, not apt.nav.

You cannot save this document with extension ".dat" at the end of the name.  The required extension is ".rtf"

Anything with this?  I can either use .rtf or both (.dat.rtf)

Convert the document to plain text before changing the filename.

Also remember to only extract the apt.dat of the airport you want. Do not import the entire apt.dat
