Hugo Weber Posted October 20, 2018 Report Posted October 20, 2018 What's the right position for packs and recirc fan when using ground air supply? When I switch the packs to AUTO, I can hear the sound of air flowing, however, the temperature raises. See image "all-auto-hot.png" When I switch the packs to off, temparature drops and stabilizes at about 22C, but now theres no sound of air flowing. See image "all-off-22c.png" How shall I place theses switches when using ground air supply? thanks. Quote
BjornMa Posted October 20, 2018 Report Posted October 20, 2018 If my memory serves me right: The Ground Air Supply is connected to the Right "bleed air" side, before the packs, and is primarily used to start the engines if your APU is inop. I do not know if you can use this as air conditioning. The Recirc fan can stay on whenever you want, as long as you have AC power, as this is used to reduce the load on the packs, and engine bleed air demand. IRL you also have an Air conditioning unit which is connected straight to the Mixing Manifold. Quote
Hugo Weber Posted October 21, 2018 Author Report Posted October 21, 2018 Thanks a lot for the answer BjornMa. I though the "ground air supply" was air conditioning. Quote
N313GM Posted October 21, 2018 Report Posted October 21, 2018 (edited) You might be thinking about the "PCA" Pre-Conditioned Air? If so your assumption is correct. https://aviation.stackexchange.com/questions/27114/what-is-this-tube-connected-to-a-757-for . For what it's worth, that's what I thought the "connect air supply" radio button was for. Edited October 21, 2018 by N-R313 Quote
