wain Posted September 13, 2017 Report Posted September 13, 2017 so I have planned the following route for a flight on friday, LEBL - LSGG... I have used simbrief...... LEBL/07L DALI2B DALIN UN870 MAXIR UN853 KINES KINE1N LSGG/05 all goes well until I get to GG502.....it then says VECTORS... the magenta line then starts again at BELKA.... what is the correct procedure? do I make a turn? do I do a heading change? do I disengage LNAV until BELKA? I am guessing I head onto 044, but to do that I assume I need to stop LNAV.. Sorry if this seems a dumb question, I have added 3 pics.... Thanks Wayne Quote
ArborVitae Posted September 13, 2017 Report Posted September 13, 2017 Vectors means atc vectors, what you need to do if there is no atc is to fly to your iaf. By hand or heading or simply direct to your iaf if you don't want to disengage lnav. Usually if there are not many traffic around, you just make a shortcut and don't fly those last few fixes Quote
ArborVitae Posted September 13, 2017 Report Posted September 13, 2017 Actually you can watch live how atc use those fixes if you have charts ltba is a great place to watch since it has way more fixes. Open ltba rnav arrival star charts and open flightradar24 at the same time and see how atc uses them to get planes on ils in heavy traffic Quote
mmerelles Posted September 13, 2017 Report Posted September 13, 2017 (edited) VECTORS means ATC will give you further instructions what to do. In the mean time you have to mantain current heading. You will see a straight line over the ND display regarding this instruction. Because you are flying offline, simply delete VECTORS from the flight plan during pre-flight. According to your first picture: 1. clic LSK3 (BELKA will be copied to the scratchpad automatically) 2. clic LSK2 to insert BELKA over VECTORS, this will override vectors and shift the entire flight plan one step up. 3. EXECute your flight plan will look GG502 BELKA PAS etc. Edited September 13, 2017 by mmerelles 2 Quote
