(MacOS Sierra) X-Plane 11 cannot find USB joystick Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold

I upgraded my Macbook Pro to MacOS Sierra (10.12.4) a few days ago. My X-Plane 11 application fails to recognize my Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold joystick.

Checking Mac hardware, it does recognize it under the USB Device Tree:

  Vendor ID: 0x06a3  (Saitek PLC)

  Version: 0.01

  Speed: Up to 1.5 Mb/sec

  Manufacturer: SAITEK

I had to buy a new joystick after upgrading OS a few years back - apparently some Saiteks don't use Apple's USB protocols and Mac OS got fussier about it.

But MacOS recognizes the joystick. My guess is that it is X-plane that has the bug.
