Tom Knudsen Posted March 14, 2017 Report Posted March 14, 2017 (edited) I am wondering about the capability of the IXEG 737 Can it do one of the other, as far as I know it can do the first less restrictive yes? Cat3a Cat3b Cat3c Edited March 14, 2017 by Tom Knudsen
Morten Posted March 14, 2017 Report Posted March 14, 2017 3B and 3C requires the aircraft is equipped with the rollout function (AP controls the rudder), which the 737CL's do not have - so no... 1

Tom Knudsen Posted March 14, 2017 Author Report Posted March 14, 2017 Found out that Norwegian has only one airplane with CAT3b capabilities (LN-NIB) they got from Air Berlin They have a company policy to NOT have any airplanes with CAT3b, guess this is manly because in Norway only Gardermoen ENGM has CAT3B ILS and all other except Stavanger ENZV (CAT2) has CAT1
sk331 Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 Also the CAT3b option is supposedly very expensive. As far as I know only a handful of operators have bought this capability. Air Berlin (only some) and Japan Airlines are the only ones I know about. I assume the price issue is why Norwegian is going for the cat3a only option. Remember they fly other places than Norway too. Their 787's are of course cat3b capable. 1
